Cool vibe, reasonable price, and solid happy hour deal! Service was just okay, like we were really pushed to leave our table when our time was up which was a little abrasive and the food was good but not mind blowing either. I’d say the happy hour deal is the best bet for a good time. The karaoke downstairs looked super fun though!
What a surprise! My friend was talking this place up and the food did not disappoint. From outside, there is nothing spectacular, but once inside, it becomes a warm and inviting venue. From the greeting upon entrance to our friendly server, it made this visit great. The food... our compliments to the chef. The short ribs and potatoes were tasty. While it was a bit of a hike to get there for me, it was definitely worth the trip to try something new. The only reason for 4 stars is because we were beside a group that got really loud, and then the music got louder.
Was nice while it was still light outside. Dark mood lighting and louder music the second the sun goes down. Food was good, though the patatas were very spicy. Hibiscus tea was pleasant as it was very natural flavours and not too sweet. The chairs are uncomfortable but benches are better. Downstairs is a very intriguing karaoke bar with private rooms!
Loved the vibe and decor! Music in the bar area is great too. It's cool that there's karaoke downstairs and a dance area with two bars upstairs + downstairs. The karaoke rooms are so fun and cool with a huge selection of songs. I had a great experience for my birthday party. Service was great too! $30 minimum spend per person for the karaoke rooms and $60 for the room. My only suggestion is that the reservation time slot for karaoke should be 3+ hours! They only allow 2 hour slots and it's just too rushed for the amount of money you're spending. It's a race to finish your alcohol bottles, drinks, food, taking photos, and actually singing karaoke...
Super cute atmosphere, amazing food and drinks! Only thing wrong I could say is we were completely abandoned by our server, I actually think she finished her shift and left but never had anyone take us. Everything was excellent other than that, some more communication with us would have been great.
This is more like a club and not exactly a cocktail bar with seating but it's a nice place if you like to dance. It's hard to find a place to stand at the bar and it gets a little crowded. It gets young crowd, but is fairly pricey. The cocktail menu is good - I do recommend Golden women which is a light drink and the departed which was very strong but the better one of the two.
A month ago, I celebrated my 50th birthday at Bar Mordecai. I had the BEST experience ever. I rented out one of the private karaoke rooms for 20 people for a private party. The ambiance was stellar. I pre-ordered some food and alcoholic beverages. Our hostess Alexis was fantastic and super-attentive. Christina co-owner, Emily, and the rest of the staff, went above and beyond to make sure I had an unforgettable night. Me and my guests had a blast with the karaoke. So many song choices! I highly recommend Bar Mordecai for any private functions!
Really nice patio bar. Tried their cocktails, really recommend Royal Old Fashioned! Buck a shuck oyster s on every Sundays are a must! Service is top notch. Indoor looks so pretty, can't wait for karaoke dine in, one of the waiter said it's going to be Mid August so soon as they just finished renovating the basement!
Went for happy hour with a friend, the $2 oysters are fine but not my vibe smaller and topped with a lot of pesto. The long island iced teas were delightful as was everything else we ordered from the menu ceviche blanco, croquetas A+, charcuteria.
Fantastic cocktails, special shout-out to their take on an espresso martini: one of the best I’ve had! We went at opening hour on a Sunday and the vibe was very much a chill evening to enjoy great cocktails and welcoming staff. It seems to become more of a party spot on Friday and Saturday nights but I can’t comment on that. If anything, I look forward to coming back and see the difference! There’s something great about a place that can welcome community members both for a relaxing time and a fun, louder time. Very much recommended!
