Amazing service and very fragrant food. We had a butter chicken thalis very good option for someone who has difficulty deciding, because you get a bunch of sides and even a rice pudding dessert and a chicken korma. We ordered a medium spice level but didn't detect any spice, so I would recommend ordering a spicier level if you prefer hotter foods. All in all a great experience!
The food was terrible. The lamb beryani lacked flavour and texture. The rice was a bit mushy. Chicken korma curry was also not any better. You can taste the texture of the spices in the sauce, not emulsified well. The flavour wasn’t strong. Semosa was greasy and the stuffing wasn’t well seasoned Overall this place is very disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it at all
It's a pretty average restaurant food wise, decent experience if you've never eaten Indian food before but if you have, you'll probably expect more taste! The biryani is pretty decent though!Food: 3/5
This restaurant has been around for years and the food continues to be consistently great. The staff were attentive and helpful. The food is well spiced you can choose- we picked medium. They have a varied menu with lots to choose from. The food came out quickly and was fresh. Clean, bright and welcoming, it’s the perfect spot for a weekend lunch. The prices are reasonable too. Parking is convenient and it’s an easy walk from Christie Station.
I liked the food but the service and the ambience could be improved. We had an inattentive server and waited over 40 minutes to get our food. The electricity went out 4 times during our meal and each time the AC would turn off, making it very hot and stuffy in the restaurant.
Delicious Indian fare that can be ordered mild or spicy. Highly recommend that Thila platter! Appetizers, a curry of your choice, lentils and dessert all in one. Can be vegetarian. Delicious! $17 per person. Vegetarian options: Multiple delicious appetizers and main dishes available.
We walked to Banjara Indian Cuisine from the Metro. We accidentally went to the wrong one next door, we went to Madras Masala. Anyways we relocated to Banjara and got seated. We ordered the Goat Masala and Malai Kofta as entrees. For sides we got Basmati Rice and Naan Bread. I really really like the Malai Kofta, the sauce was nice and creamy. The deep fried potato balls were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside which was perfect. Great place and would recommend!
4.5. A very busy and delicious Indian restaraunt. A large selection with many North Indian options. The naan is also fresh and soft and they bring papadaam with every meal. Don’t miss the butter chicken, dhal mahkani, vindaloo, and the mushroom curry. The biriyani is good but it has saffron in it so only order if you’re into that. If you’re solo or don’t want to share- they have Thali’s which is a plate that has a variety of dishes - almost like a bento box. The space is simple, with little ambiance, but it’s friendly and casual. I often order take out- make sure you order well in advance because they’re really busy and often it will take about an hour for the food to be ready for pick up. They don’t take AMEX but you can use a credit card.
On our recent trip to Toronto we ate the Banjara restaurant and found the food to be of really good quality and well cooked. We had their thali which was amazing! Just a word of caution if you're after super Spicy food then theirs is just that. We ordered their super spicy prawns and weren't disappointed. Their Chai and naans are great too. The staff there are very polite and helpful in recommending dishes. The food isn't overly priced either. Definitely worth a visit.
Best spicy Briyani in downtown, the food was really tasty and the ambience and service was ultimate. But the food quantity was adequate for it's price point. Moreover, getting empty parking lot is difficult during night times. So need to park in the streets and pay for parking. Parking: Parking lot is free, but difficult to get at busy times. Need to do paid street parking.
