This place has the best Bánh Mí that I've tried lately in Edmonton. Lots of great options to try. My wife loves the beef bánh mi and I'm down for the classic house special. I suggest getting it on a baguette. The bread seems to be made in house and very fresh. The owner came out and had a quick chat while they made my order. It's a bit if a jaunt for me to go there but if I'm ever craving it I'd go out of my way to go there and get some.
If this place wasn’t so far from where I live I would eat this every day. I got the charbroiled beef $9.50 and my wife got the shredded chicken $8.75. Both sandwiches were amazing, the charbroiled beef being a little more delicious and a little more spicy. The baguettes and the French rolls are baked in house and were super fresh and delicious. Customer service was through the roof and super friendly. We drove from Sherwood Park to Kingsway 25 minute drive to try their food and both sandwiches travelled very well. I would strongly recommend checking this place out.
Tried this place after it was recommended by family. The sandwiches are excellent and the quality/taste is premium. The bread is baked in-house and smells great. Service is outstanding; can't say enough good tjjngs about how friendly the staff/owners are.
After seeing the yummy photos on social media I had to try for myself. Ample parking even during peak hours. First impressions, I was impressed at the minimal approach and clean space. Simple menu with lots of options. I didn't see satay but told her girl I'd like something along those lines and suggested charbroiled beef #20. It was prepared fresh made to order. Upon leaving I was greeted by the ownerI think and thanked me for stopping by and my business. I felt good about my purchase and supporting local. The sandwich was perfection. Bread was fresh and did NOT cut my mouth. healthy portion with fresh vegetables and a slight kick to the beef. Once done I was already thinking about when I'd be back and what I'd try next! Make this a MUST TRY on your places to check out! P.S my dog didn't eat the sandwich. too spicy. she was only a model for the photo lol
I was excited to try a banh mi sandwich for the first time, and unfortunately this was a big disappointment. My biggest issue is with the value vs price paid. It was a very, very skimpy sandwich - two very thin strips of beef with one skinny slice of cucumber, two slices of jalapeños, and a couple sprigs of cilantro. I had thought a banh mi was this flavorful assortment of crunchy veggies but it was not, and at times it was like I was just eating soggy bread with carrots. I do not feel it was worth $9 for the small roll, nor do I think I would have been happy to pay $11 for the baguette. Very disappointing first time and I look forward to finding better value options in other places. Will not recommend or be back.
Got the house special and Charbroiled beef. It's good and all but for the price I can get twice the amount in Chinatown. I felt the bread was a bit flat. It was good to try but not sure when's the next time I'll be back.
Have been excited to finally try this sub shop! Here's my take.. Great fresh crispy long baguettes, tight on the meat,cilantro and cucumber! Yummy pate and head cheese meat, but I can imagine how much better it would have tasted with double-triple the meat!! Maybe they should make the loaves smaller so they can easily pack more meat in it! At least that's what you would expect with their price point.. Cuz elsewhere nearby is just that with the smaller price tag ;
Bánh mì here was good but the price was a bit higher compared to other places in the city. Seems like they make the sandwiches fresh in store everyday but the place was not that busy, probably due to the higher pricing. We spent roughly $10-11/ sub, while you can find about half that price somewhere else. But I support Vietnamese local restaurants and food stores. I hope the traffic picks up and they could take advantage of economy of scales and keep the price more competitive.
I got the number 1 on a baguette w/ extra pate & butter and would say it is a very solid sub. The quality is definitely there with the cold cuts and the pickled vegetables. The pate was really rich and smooth and the bread was also nice and buttery. A friend would recommend getting the bread toasted a bit more. I did toast it at home because I didn't receive it fresh and it was amazinging crispy on the outside and soft inside. For the price I probably wouldn't frequent this place and also would've liked a bit more meat. But I do not eat subs too often so I could see myself going here from time to time. Will definitely try other kinds of subs next time! Edit: Came back and tried their beef sub. Great sub but I did forget to ask for it to be extra toasted. Definitely recommend it getting extra toasted. Only complaint this time is that the baguette mightve been buttered a bit too much this time on the outside but overall still tasty.
Me and my friend ordered the same thing but he somehow got double the meat… needs to work on consistency. Flavour was good however. Tried to go another time to give them another try but they were closed despite their google hours suggesting otherwise.
