Banff Indian Trading Post

I love this place. Every time I go into Banff I have to stop by here. They have so many beautiful things with a price range that will suit just about anyone. I never leave without finding something I want.

I've shopped here for almost 10 years, but recently I was sold baby moccasins made by a local for $49.99 that were very evidently previously worn. I contacted management via e-mail--not to seek a refund or exchange--simply, to let them know it had happened. I received no response or explanation. Very disappointed and unlikely to return at this point. The hand-crafted merchandise was a huge draw for me for gifts over the years, but I feel uncomfortable shopping here knowing the artists aren't being paid for merchandise that is sold again and again.

As you would image a good deal of souvenirs but they do have some remarkable hand knit sweaters, beautiful jackets with rabbit fur collars!!!

I saved Christmas and $100 with one phone call.. I was so desperate for a very specific pair of mitts for a gift. I needed them by the next evening but I was in Calgary working. I was willing to do almost anything. Turns out I did basically nothing because Karen took the info, called me right back, and sent them same day courier to my office. I had them by noon. And still $100 cheaper than online. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?
