Not sure what’s going on with past reviews, BUT this place serves really GREAT food. Usually, my reviews have something negative to say, but this time everything was awesome : I took Beef Kebab with rice and Greek salad , was surprised to see this huge plate with food for 16$. I love Turkish/Lebanese cuisine and this place is definitely worth to visit.
I try my best not to give bad reviews to restaurants, as its a lot of blood and sweat that goes into setting one up but this place deserves no mercy. I ordered a chicken shawerma platter and all I got was fries and chicken for freaking $18.50!! For fries and a small serving of chicken, $18.50? The audacity of you guys! The chicken was so burnt and all I could taste now is burnt food. I didn’t realise these guys served chicken that just spent time in hell. This is the most pathetic food I’ve ever had, period! I ordered food for my friend and I, and he threw his portion out and started eating vegetables, THATS HOW BAD IT WAS! If you have a craving for Mediterranean cuisine, eat from Mashawee. If they’re closed, eat from Mezza. If they’re closed, too, and this restaurant is your only option, go to bed hungry. All they want is your money, there’s no effort to serve good food! Ciao!
We were missing home ....I found it here in bakeaway. Home sweet home. We ordered shank with rice, chips, and shawarma platter...with lots of dips and sauces .... a little pricy ...but worth a trip home saudi. Eating like a local. I m glad I found this place with my boys. They even gave us free baklawa to welcome us ! Must to - go place to eat Arab/ Middle Eastern food.
The most authentic shawarma wrap I've had in HRM! The taboule wasnt bad but could be better. Overall very good and ill be coming back!
Their Shawarma wrap is very good, beef kebab wrap is not as good but okay. But the fried chicken.. they are raw inside, we didn’t realize until we finished most of the chicken other than that, the chicken doesn’t have much taste to it and the crust is kinda burnt. I know good fried chicken is hard to make, but hopefully you guys will get there soon before somebody gets sick first…..
This place definitely has potential. Their falafels were good, chicken can use some more work. The biggest complaint i have is that they use tortillas for shawarma wraps. Like why? Changes the whole flavour profile of a shawarma. Edit: Decided to give this place another chance and got a Kabab wrap + falafel platter. Kabab was literally just a beef patty in kabab shape with no seasoning. And the falafel plate was 14.99 and looked like the picture. The falafels were rock solid. That is totally unacceptable and was definitely the last time i ever go to this place.
I had been meaning to try this place ever since it opened under a new name and I’m glad I did. The shawarma wrap was hot and crispy and definitely the best I’ve had in Halifax. As a side note, I was surprised to see someone posting a picture of what looks like perfectly cooked red meat and calling it raw?? If you’ve never had red meat just say so
Nice people and excellent food menu. If you're looking for a middle eastern type of food you should try this recently opened cozy place in downtown. The management is great and the place is neat and clean. They're growing and supporting them is vital. Best of luck
Kabab was a bit dry but the donair was really good.
Amazing food, reminds me of the food I had when I traveled to the middle east. Great atmosphere, Stuff is very friendly and fast service.
