Story

We are a group of two Companion Animal Hospitals accredited by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, the licensing body for Veterinarians and veterinary hospitals in the province. Established by Dr. Sandi Rosely, Avonlea Animal Hospital has been serving the Mississauga Meadowvale community since July 2000. In 2007, Hollybank Animal Hospital opened to service the growing neighbourhoods in south Milton.

Choosing your pet's doctor and health care team can be a very difficult process. We can assure you that all of your pet's health care needs will be met with our hospital staff and services. Our pet care health services include wellness care, vaccinations, medical care, surgery, dentistry, x-rays, and behaviour, obedience and dietary management.

I visited Avonlea Animal Hospital as my vet wasn't available at the time. I just want to say I love the staff and veterinary doctor Dr. Alana they were gentle and took their time with my fur pup, they also made us feel very welcome. Dr. Alana was very engaging and considerate giving us a break down and step by step options. They are a bit pricey but I would definitely recommend Avonlea Animal Hospital

My cat was in medical distress and his usual vet was “too busy” to see him on an emergency basis. I was unable to find any clinic who would give me an appointment because they weren’t accepting new patients. Finally, Hollybank Milton Animal Clinic took pity on me and found me an emergency appointment at their sister clinic, Avonlea Animal Hospital Mississauga. The difference between my former vet and Dr. Rosely was evident immediately in the care she provided and in the thoroughness of her examination. Her immediate diagnosis was food allergies that hadn’t been diagnosed or treated by my previous vet, who missed all the signs and symptoms despite multiple visits when the symptoms presented. Dr. Rosely explains everything in detail and takes her time. Her team is also incredibly kind, patient and willing to share knowledge and answer any questions or concerns. I really cringe to think how my cat would still be sick or even euthanized as that’s how ill he was this time had I stayed with my former vet who would have just sent him home like the previous time he had a GI emergency instead of providing options and solutions as Dr. Rosely did. I am so grateful for Dr. Rosely and her staff. They are truly the best.

I’ve been with Avonlea over 15 years.  Hands down best value for your money.  The exemplary quality care and attention and follow up calls and reminders are a piece of mind for me. They have two locations this one in Mississauga and another in Milton.   I’ve referred two of my friends.   Keep up the terrific work. My dog's first doctor's appointment went well. Everyone at the clinic were kind and welcoming. The veterinarian Adam was knowledgeable and approachable. My wife and I never felt intimidated and our dog felt safe and secure. Hopefully, our next visit will be nice as well.

Bless Dr. Rosely, Kira, Laura and the staff at Avonlea: My little man, Butterscotch, a 16 year old Scottish Fold,  has been a patient of Dr. Rosely for more than ten years. I know I can trust his care to these wonderful and truly dedicated professionals.  Buddy short for Butterscotch... and because he is the best buddy anyone could ever ask for just had a small surgery today and now he is home and doing great! When he was diagnosed with fatty liver disease a couple of years ago  I told Dr. Rosely that I planned to syringe feed him by hand for as long as it took for him to recover. She was so encouraging and supportive and made me feel like the best cat mom ever for taking on this task.  I fed him like this for over 8 months and we both loved his feeding times so much that I still feed him by hand a year and a half later.  Kira,  who is a very knowledgeable vet tech, even babysat Buddy and our 19 year old border collie, Snoop, for a week which allowed us to take a short vacation. She is the only person I would have trusted to take the time and care to syringe feed him multiple times a day for 7 days:  Laura, at the front desk, always has a big welcoming smile for us and keeps track of all his weigh-ins. We switched to Avonlea Animal Hospital a year ago when we were having issues with our old vet clinic. Our neighbours had been going here for years and recommended them. Our australian shepherd is very timid around new people and usually had to be sedated for xrays and tests. Dr Rosely and her staff have been amazing with her and our other dog. No sedation required for xrays or ultrasounds and she does not shake or cower away while be examined. This week Dr Rosely saved her life by removing her spleen that had a mass and she has taken every call we have placed and answered all our concerns. Her staff has also been so supportive as well. The best thing about this clinic is when I walk in the door they know my name and the names of my pets which makes me know that they care. All I can say is thanks for helping our baby.

Check in was quick and wait time was non-existent made an appointment same day, doctor was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful with any questions I had. Would recommend every time.

I took my little cat to see the vet, when I called this morning,  I was greeted with tender kindness,  I was given a an appointment immediately for this morning,  saw the vet, Dr Thomas was cery patient and understanding,  he worked with me as a team and planned to do so for the duration of my cat's treatment.  I can't tell you how comfortable that is to know that we are a team, working to put all the puzzles peices together,  so we can come up with the best outcome.  The whole office staff were understanding,  supportive and very compassionate . My cat and I are very blessed for the referal  thank you for your support and care.

I've been coming to Avonlea since I got my kitten.  It had great reviews on Google and is located a 5 minute drive away. Which is perfect since my cat absolutely hates car rides and isn't shy about letting me know. To avoid listening to his opera renditions for more than 5 minutes, I was looking for a super close by veterinarian  hospital and was not disappointed!  Great service and absolutely lovely staff! Quick in and out for routine checks. Xerxes protests minimally after his visits.  Highly recommended!
