My sister-in-law reserved a vehicle and she was told that she would have unlimited miles well, we show up to pick up the vehicle today and all of a sudden there's a limit on Miles with a crazy price for every mile over their limit. Staff was quite unhelpful and unsympathetic for THEIR miscommunication. Needless to say we canceled this reservation and are going to a more respectable establishment. I would advise you to do the same! NOT TO MENTION, the reservation was for a 4Runner or similar, and they tried to give us a Ford Escape...not similar yall!
Am not someone who writes bad reviews very easily, but this place is so bad I had to do this, to let ppl know about it, and the Avis management needs to do something about it..!! Worst place to rent a car..!! The staff is rude, they don really care about the customer satisfaction. The car they gave me was vibrating n it had a bad alignment.. I did talk to the Avis customer service on phone to change the car, n as suggested I tried exchanging the car in a different location, n due to lack of cars, I could not exchange the car, and had to deal with this car through the length of my trip.. I came back to this location to return the car and the lady is not even bothered to ask how the car was or how the service was, she jus checked me out asking me to clear the water bottles n paper trash in the car..I guess We pay for the full cleaning included in the rental N after me telling her the problem with the car, she doesn’t acknowledge tht, n instead she jus said a okay n finished the checkout.. I think this is the worst experience I had with any car rentals..!!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, WILL NEVER RETURN! so terribly rude to me. i had several other rental places canceled since they had car shortages so i was unfortunately referred to this location. made my reservation for a simple economy. upon arrival, i was told my 2020 updated Texas ID was fake since it “lacks security authentication features” such as a birth date photo hologram. when i pointed out my ID has said hologram, she still refused to accept citing the black light not confirming. i brought my brother in who has the older style hologram Texas ID which she had no problem accepting. we ended up leaving to do business with hertz enterprise instead. awful women ladies working behind the counter. should have seen the red flags from the 2.3 avg rating & small shanty shack with dirty cigarette smell vehicles. L + ratio
Mary at 67th ave and Bell location was very unprofessional. She assumed she knew what the mix up was without allowing me to properly explain the detail of the matter between AARP/AVIS prepay over the phone reservation and what happened at the counter the day of pick up. She had a very condescending tone as she would continue to cut me off telling me that the issues I stated were not what actually happened when in fact this was the very first time ever speaking or seeing her. The mix up: We made a reservation over the phone through the AVIS/AARP hotline. When my husband went to pick up the car the employee would not release since the card # used over the phone did not match his physical card # my husband had. My mistake cause I wasn't thinking about us having different card numbers for the same account. Anyway, I called the same hotline to cancel the reservation and created a new one for the same car and total costs with my husbands actual card number. My husband returned to pick up the same car under the new reservation and instead of releasing the car under the new reservation they decided to create a whole new reservation and charge a higher rate. I now have 3 different car reservations with 3 different charges. Thankfully the manager from the AARP/AVIS hotline was able to confirm and cancel the two previous reservations made over the phone as well as provided me the new reservation # AVIS at the counter created. Mary refused to give me that new number since they created the new reservation under my husband without him knowing that's what they were doing and could only speak to him. She wouldn't take the time to understand what the mix up was. All I wanted was to make sure that the new reservation they created at the counter for the same car would match my rate for being an AARP member which was reflected on the original reservations I created. We couldn't even get that far. Once again the AARP/AVIS hotline manager also gave me a confirmation number for the new reservation stating that the adjustments will be made to the new reservation to reflect the discounts I'm supposed to get once the car is turned in. Had Mary took the time to not interrupt and understand the situation it could have been handled as the manager on the phone explained. Note: If you make a reservation over the phone you must confirm at the counter on their screen when picking up the car that the reservation # is accurate otherwise they'll just make a new one for you without even saying a word to you.
ZERO CAR RENTAL!!! My out of state drivers license was “deemed to be fake” under the black light from the lack of a hologram so they would not honor my reservation for a FULL SIZED SUV, guess they don’t want $1400!!! i’ve NEVER had this problem before, including the other budget avis on grand avenue. the two women lady were so rude explaining how the outgoing ID style in my state had the authentication markers they were looking for. saying that they’ve had vehicles stolen lately. how’s that my problem? TAKING MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE NEVER AGAIN‼
Worst customer service. This woman was quick to proclaim the 170.00 charge for being an hour late although it was only 40 minutes late when I arrived. So turned off by the attitude and lack of customer service. I would have fought the charge but 1 I've met people like this before and it's not worth my time 2 my company paid for it anyways and didn't care of the ridiculous charge. Do yourself a favor- GO TO ENTERPRISE or ANYWHERE but this place/ location. They care ZERO about you or your needs or situation and are desperate for money.
This is the worst car rental facility ever. If you are used to top notch service like Enterprise or Hertz, do not go here. You pay Avis prices but Walmart and that is being nice service. This location should be shut down. They do not embody the spirit of Avis and the women behind the counter are trashy in every sense of the word. Tattoos and lip piercings, sit on their butt, no greeting, they will try to screw you on every little cost. Do not rent here. There are other locations that will gladly take your business but put this one out of business by not giving them your business. They are truly horrible. Notice the trend of reviews since I posted this a month ago. Avis invited me to call them in their response but then you call them and are on hold for 15 minutes. How about they call me since I spend thousands with them every year and have been a Presidents club member with them for several years now. They have all my contact information. Drove by here today and same rude Manager sitting on her butt. Needs to lose her job for what she is doing to this location. Done renting with Avis. Never again.
The 1 star is solely for the good price i was getting. I cancelled my reservation today for this reason: i called To see if i was Able to use a debit card. Jason stated i could But that if I didn’t pass a credit check of 650 or above, I would need a major credit card. Even paying a month before my trip Avis wants me to pay in full but not promise me a car unless my credit score is above 650. If I won’t meet then I need a major credit card? I do not have a major credit card. How are you going to ask me to pay in full THEN ask for a credit check!!?? Not only that but they won’t even do the check until the day you pick up which will do me no good because i know I’m under 650 and know i for A fact do not have a 650 credit score. This is a horrible thing to expect from someone. I can’t imgine what i would Have done if i I would have went the day before my trip as planned and been turned away. I will NEVER rent from this place again nor refer them
Not a good experience at this location. Desk staff was unfriendly. The SUV we rented for our vacation had high mileage for a rental 35,000. Strong odor of cigarette smoke. Vehicle exterior was dirty when we picked it up. Engine hood was loose and rattled and shook our entire trip – very annoying at 75mph on the freeway. Original tires on the vehicle had very little tread left. Tires were underinflated and triggered the dash warning light when we ran into cooler weather in the mountain areas. The only good thing about this vehicle was it got us where we were going and back.
I love this place...Hope and Mary always make you feel like part of their family. Been going for years because of the good service and treatment Paul and I get every single time. No matter how busy they get, you will be treated good. Cars are always ready to go for us. Thank you Hope and Mary for taking good care of us, which is why we stay loyal to you!
