Great place for sports fans, lots of TV's with multiple games. This can be a bit of a challenge if you are following one particular club/sport. In fairness, management are trying to appeal to a variety of fans. Not the best place if you want to go for a drink and conversation - too noisy. That being said, as a sports fan, lots of energy is generated. They have a couple of bar pool tables, however, most guests were engrossed in the TV's. Our server, Megan, was great. Very personable.
This was my first time visiting in probably 10 years after moving away from Sherwood park. Average Joes has a comfortable not too loud atmosphere and seating, reasonable prices, and delicious food! The menu has a solid variety of mostly Canadian cuisine. The rollups are the best I've ever had. Would recommend! The service was amazing. We didn't have to wait too long for anything. Our server was on top of refilling drinks and seemed to know exactly when to check in. This is a great casual dining spot, even if you're not into sports!
Caught a bus to the oilers game from here. We arrived an hour early to have a beer and bite to eat. The only tables available had dirty dishes on them so we waited patiently for a server to clear the table while we sat there. I understand that it was busy but each server kept walking by and avoiding any contact with us. Finally when the server cleared the table and we ordered a beer each. We waited another 15 min for the beer and the server asked if we wanted to order food. At that point it was too late. The glasses that the beer came in also looked dirty! We will not be back!
I rarely write a review but this has to be said. I went in the other night for a bite with my brother sat down 15/20 minutes went bye with no one coming around to take our order. The servers were too busy chit chatting at the bar. The establishment wasn’t even busy either. Absolute embarrassment I used to come here often when I lived in the area and usually have had great service now probably won’t be returning as this has happened a few times recently.
Good bar, lots of tv’s, good service, horrible food. I order the 15” spicy Italian pizza for $25 and it was terrible. It tasted like it was frozen. The crust tasted like cardboard, the sauce was weak, the pepperoni was cut so thin you could read a newspaper through it, and if you didn’t know there were spicy peppers on it you wouldn’t have known because there were so few. Friends ordered the $45 appetizer platter and it wasn’t any better. They get two stars because of the service and tv’s.
The service was really good, our waitress was friendly and polite. The food took a long time for how busy it was not, but it was good for bar food.
Great LoTR trivia night! Except, it would be much better if the host knew the source material, and teams didn’t mark each other’s papers. It’s really frustrating when some teams mark fairly and others don’t and there’s no double-checking by the venue.
There is nothing average about Average Joe's! Great atmosphere. Great food. Great beer menu. The kids menu is the standard stuff, but done very well, my kids clear their plates here. We make a point of stopping anytime we are in the area.
Staff was nice. Went with my kids, there was only an hour left in the minors allowed. They were very quick with our order. Service was good. Food was very tasty. Will definitely be ditching my kids and going back for a date night with the wife!!
Great vibe, and the food was great. Our server only came once in an hour which was the only bad part.
