Story

In 1967, the Avalon Mall opened its doors and grew to become the largest, most noted shopping centre in Newfoundland & Labrador. Known to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians as "The Mall", Avalon Mall's recognition and selection of retailers has made it "THE" shopping destination in the province.

Located in historic St. John's, the Avalon Mall offers over 140 stores and services to choose from. Largest mall in the province, 140+ stores, food court, indoor/outdoor parking, bright, clean with lots of washrooms. I went there to buy Nfld souvenirs from DOWNHOME on the upper level.

One of the busier and livelier parts of the town, Avalon Mall is not just a shopping place, it's a landmark. Whether it's your dining cravings, fashion shopping, daily needs or movie nights, you'll probably end up coming here one way or the other!nThere's a nice food court which greets you with the smell of coffee every single time. As you wander around, you realise it's a well-maintained, clean place with a modern, subtle aesthetic. Unlike many other malls, this one spreads flat and wide, and under.nOn occasions, you will find events going on here, where you might be able to get a discount or two.
The biggest mall in the province. It will have most of the stores your looking for. 12 cinemas included for new releases. Large games arcade and food court. It lacks a sit down relaxing restaurant. The Rec Room has a decent menu but is adjacent to the arcade and it is LOUD. The main anchor store is Winners.
Come a long way in 40 years. Looks like any nice big shopping mall with big box stores. Well lit, clean. Luckily Mt. Cashel orphange is closed so you don't get the scum bags orphans who used to live there hanging out at the mall anymore.
