Found an ad on craigslist under "owner" for set of tires. Had a few back and forth conversation to meet. I think guy's name was Mike, he was nice enough to wait close to an hour after closing so I can pickup "brand new" tires that was advertised. Tires were indeed brand new and still had stickers on it. I had checked the specs and manufacturing date in the pitch dark with a flash light and I saw 08. 5 years which I'm okay with. However When i got home I found out it was an 03, tire is 10 years old. I contacted mike and let him know I misread the number and see if he's willing to take the tires back for less than what I paid him. Just wanted to recoup some of the money back All I got in return was that the tires were "You asked if they were old stock and I said yes. They are also $100 each, you can't be expecting anything that new and name branded at that price. " Which I agree, unless i travel down to states for a day and make it a trip. I know buying things online is buyer is responsible for fitting etc etc. Just seeing a shop selling 10 year old tires to customer is wrong. Even 5 year old tires shouldn't be sold to customers. I wasn't expecting 10 years old when I mentioned old stock to him. Won't be recommending the shop to anyone.
