Story

On November 19, 2007, AUGIE’S ON THE BAY opened our doors with a new name, new owners and a facelift to the restaurant itself. We feature homestyle cooking and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We have become well known in the area for our good food, and large portions. Augie’s quickly has become the place to go for fish! From everyday dishes like - The Yellow Lake Perch, Smelt, Cod or Whitefish. It’s hard to beat our fish.

I love the ribs!  They are so tender and delicious.  My friend loves the fried perch or the smelt!  He says the pea soup is the best he has ever had.  The desserts are fabulous.  I can't wait to go again.

Far and away, a beautiful view of the lake is a highlight of this cozy establishment. I've only stopped by once. But my wife and her family have visited Tawas City several times over the years. They are fans of fish and chips and Augie's offers delicious food in this category. I'm more of a breakfast guy myself. I enjoyed their options here. But was not blown away (which would have bumped things to a 4-star review). I am definitely open to upgrading my rating upon future visits. This place is worth a try.

one of those comfortable little places, you go that you know will have a table open and friendly atmosphere.

Great breakfast. I had the messy bowl. Omg is that awesome!! It's on the bay. Cute littler diner.
