Hadn’t been to Athena’s in a couple years, but will definitely go back as soon as convenient. Such a great quintessential diner for breakfast. Went on Black Friday and the place was busy by 8am, but they handled the crowd well. We were seated in 5 mins, immediately greeted by our sweet waitress, coffee and juice delivered in a minute, breakfast order taken and food delivered in less than 10 minutes. Daughter ordered the Benedict, wife got an omelette and I ordered the corn beef pan dish. All of us were happy with flavor and quality. If you want a satisfying diner breakfast, Athena will deliver.
Enjoyed a massive and delicious Greek Salad at the counter. Was surprised at the size and selection of vegetables in the salad! Loved that the tomatoes were diced, not huge slices. Came with a steak knife to cut beautiful cucumbers. The presentation was really impressive! The staff is just so nice and attentive, as well! Super fast delivery of salad and easy & quick check out at the register. Thanks, guys!!
Old fashioned diner, just like you enjoy it. Very nice waitress service and delicious food. Try the hash browns in the skillet with eggs. It's great. The grilled cheese and fries were delicious too.Food: 5/5
I’ve been to Athens countless times and it never disappoints. It’s a Greek run diner that specializes in great skillets and eggs Benedict. They also have classic Greek dishes for lunch like gyros and spanikopita. The interior looks like a classic diner with plenty of booth seating and at the bar. If you’re in the area then be sure to visit this diner.
Thursday mid morning and that place was BUSY and there was always a line. Wait wasn’t too long though. Diner is small and a little tight, not many tables. We sat at the counter, which wasn’t bad. Unimpressive and unpretentious from the outside as well as inside but their food is really GOOD and their service is great! Prices are decent. We were told that the best time to go not busy at all is when they open at 6am. We highly recommend it and will be going back!
Delicious!! Had the Irish Benedict and a hot cider. Both were truly scrumptious. I don't think I've ever had cider that good. The plate was full of food and I left full. You could tell the ingredients were freshly prepared.
First time going to the diner. We were a group of 8. The gate keeper is very gruff ,not friendly. Kept repeating all parties have to be present in order to get seated. Our table came available but we had one of our party 2 minutes away. Gate keeper stated if we get seated they would not be allowed to join. This makes no sense since the table was for ten and we were currently 7. The waitress was amazing , she went and got our missing person when she came in and seated her. The food was great , the waitress was attentive and amazing.....to bad the experience was ruined by the gate keeper being unreasonable. We left the waitress a great tip for helping our group have a holiday brunch together. Don't go as a group... I might try again.
My son has called the Athens Diner, Pancake Palace for over 10 years now for good reason. The pancakes are the best!!! I highly recommend the Irish Eggs Benny. I can't speak to how good lunch is because breakfast is so good, we always get breakfast.Food: 5/5
Came here after reading many good reviews, but was underwhelmed. I ordered 3 scrambled eggs, was given 1-2 at most on a tiny plate. I also ordered pancakes, which were no better than box mix pancakes and honestly not nearly as good as even IHOP or Cracker Barrel. You are given a tiny container of maple syrup which is nowhere near enough for even one pancake, and they charge you a couple dollars each additional. I paid $23 for 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, a small milk and a coffee. The hostess was nice though.
A little pricey in my opinion for a diner, that being said it is arguably the best diner in the area. Food is always fresh and done to my liking. Service is great too!
