Arts Umbrella’s Dance program is internationally recognized for producing highly employable graduates who are dancing in companies around the world.

Story

Arts Umbrella's Dance program is internationally recognized as high-quality training that develops the whole dancer, stressing technique, strength, intellectual and artistic expression, with a focus on health and wellness. Young dancers are given the opportunity to explore dance as artists, performers, audience members and professionals.

The program has a strong foundation in Classical Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary dance forms. Program options range from beginner to career-level dance training, including a half-day academic program and a post-secondary dance diploma program in partnership with Vancouver Community College.

In addition to regular classes, Arts Umbrella professional-level dance students are given the opportunity to work with local and internationally renowned guest artists and perform world-class choreography through participation in the Arts Umbrella Dance Company. Performances are an integral part of the program, developing a sense of community and ultimately an understanding of their chosen art form.
