This is a fabulous RV park! We are staying here before departing for Newfoundland tomorrow. They have a great staff! It's so clean with great views of the St. Andews Channel. There is an RV/car wash station and a food truck so you don't have to cook! This is a gem of a park! We even hear music most likely in the beautiful activity barn we need to check out.
Stayed here 2x in our Class A Motorhome towing 64ft with toad, 40ft rig. First from June 30th to July 16th, 2022 and then again Aug 8th-10th, 2022. Pull through, Full service site both times. Campground caters to big rigsnAlthough this campground is more typically used as a short stay, as it is conveniently located close to the NFLD ferry terminal, this was by far one of our favourite longer term stays this summer. We used it as a base camp to explore Cape Breton as it was close to so much. John was very welcoming and runs a very busy park due to constant ferry RV goers with outstanding efficiency. We had a large spot during our first stay with lots of grassy space, not close to neighbours. During our second stay, as it was short, the site was a bit closer to others but still comfortable. Amazing grounds with such neat attention paid to small details, great walking paths, beautiful grassy area down by the lake, could go on and on about this place. Although you can't swim onsite, there is a quiet beach about a 5min drive away Florence Beach that made this site even more desirable. Wifi was great, no trees but the wind is frequent so we didn't feel like we needed the shade. Winnie's Wagon onsite was delicious.nThey have a fantastic barn for hosting events with a basement/ games area, and even big soaker tubs in private rooms you can reserve we didn't use but they appeared very clean and well maintained. There were frequently activities being held in the barn you could join in ie. Kitchen party style and we got lucky enough to be there when they hosted the car show. Just a wonderful, friendly, community atmosphere. Would highly recommend for short or long stay.nSide note : Gas stations in the area are not easily accessible for big rigs. Better to come as full as possible. However we got lucky and reached out to a local company Sydco Mobile, who came and delivered diesel to us filled us up for the same price as at the pumps no delivery fee. They then got stopped by many other campers on their way out! Great service to have locally.
Grounds are very well kept. Didn't even have to level the trailer. Washrooms are clean and very nicely decorated, yes decorated. Lovely little campground and located near the NFLD ferry.
Clean and well maintained, spacious campground minutes away from North Sydney ferry to NFLD.nnMy husband and I stayed in one of their cabins on 12th Aug 2022 when the ferry to Argentia was cancelled with around 2 hours notice prior to the departure time. We were finishing our 20 days NS & NB trip in our Honda Civic and the cabin here was around $65 including taxes per night. The tiny, tidy cabin was well worth the price. There were over 25 RVs in the site when we went there.nThe owners are friendly and supportive. Among other good things about the place are the food truck, breathtaking view and the picturesque walking trail. Also, pet friendly as it should be in a campground
The campground is well kept, the washrooms, showers and laundromat are super clean. We get a nice breeze and the view overlooking the Bras d'Or lakes is spectacular. And above all, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Couldn't ask for anything better and in our times of Covid, we have space for social distancing. Kudos to the owners.
