A big / warm/ delicious falafel wrap for only 4.5$ the owner is so kind, I went there for the first time and he even gave me free baklava. The place is really nice, a cozy spot when you need inner peace and delicious food. Definitely try! Computer work is not allowed so ppl can fully enjoy the food. Can’t emphasize more how good the place is!
Stepping inside is almost like being transported to another country. A cozy authentic hidden gem, that has a vibe that melts away stress. Hakim, the owner/sandwich chef and barista is lovely and friendly. The Arabesque coffee is made with cardamom but a bit on the sweet side. Loads of pastries to choose from.
Checker out Arabesque Cafe for a light meal. They’re a Middle Eastern Lebanese/Turkish cafe run by one man. Service is friendly and warm. Cute touch with newspapers on the tables, relaxing music and a pet bird chirping in the background. Prices are extremely reasonable with sandwiches in the $4.50 to $7.50 price range. - Falafel $4.50 - falafel was a touch dry but can’t complain too much for the price. - Shish kebab $7.50 - hommos and the addition of sumac onions was tasty. Solid. - Namoura $1.50 - not too sweet. The owner threw in two baklava pieces of mini fingers. Nice neighbourhood spot.
Second time here and will gladly return many more times. First time I got two types of baklava both delish but one was a bit dry and a cardamon latte. Today I ordered a strong mint tea comes perfectly sweetened and a baba ghanoush sandwich to eat in the park with the complimentary mini baklava. Fresh and tasty and I must note the generous quantity of pickles and the fact that there was no onions!! I asked for no olives too, which I think was a mistake on my part as I would have liked a touch more salt. But it didn't take away from my 5 stars!
I recently visited this charming cafe and was blown away by the cozy atmosphere and simple delicious food. The wraps were tasty, and I couldn't get enough of the hummus one. The coffee and tea were top-notch as well, with the "blood of pigeon" tea and arabesque coffee being a standout. But what really stood out the most was the warm and welcoming hospitality of the owner. His genuine kindness made us feel like we were right at home. Thank you!
What a hidden gem! Beautiful little cafe with calm ambience. Owner is very polite and serves his food and beverages with a kind smile. Delicious food and drinks, reasonably priced. I had the chicken kebab sandwich- that came rolled in a pita bread with hummus spread, fresh greens and very flavourful minced chicken kebab. Coffee and tea was yumm! Plus the baklava was out of the world. Great lunch option for takeout or dine-in.
owner is a sweetheart, generous and sole-tender of this cafe. no laptops allowed so plan to converse, pontificate and observe the business on the corner of gladstone/college from the comfort and calm within Arabesque. Arabic coffee with a side of sweet halva in this 20-year established neighbourhood staple is a must do if you’re in the area. or honestly, worth the trip in!
This place is easily the coziest coffee shop in the entire neighborhood. In a hood of high prices and stark white spit shined marble this gives me back some of that uncle's living room Vibe I've been looking for in the West End again. Fabulous latte. Delicious baklava. Very generous and kind owner! Thank you!Food: 3/5
Small cafe with seating, run by one man so service is a little slow, but very friendly service! Was there on a Sunday after 1pm and it was busy. Great pricing on sandwiches. Had the falafel which was tasty and filling. Would definitely go back again if I’m in the area and I’m not in a rush!Recommended dishesFalafel Plate
Charming and cozy little spot with some of the best homemade Middle Eastern food in the city - total hidden gem. If your lucky the owner will slide you a homemade baklava.
