Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar

The Muscatine Applebee's was very busy on a Friday night when my wife and I had supper there. The food and service were both good. The primary reasons for choosing Applebee's were location, convenience, and their diet menu. They filled these needs nicely. I generally prefer smaller "mom and pop" places, but Applebee's was a great idea for our needs!

Great food. Great service and depending on the bartender awesome drinks. Never had an issue getting a seat and always get my meal in under 20 minutes.

Can I put less than one star? Applebee's repeatedly disappoints. Service in house is mediocre. Just placed an online carside to-go order this evening specifying no onions on one of the dishes. (Note that this can not be misheard because it is typed in print within the order.) Arrived on time and waited an extra 10 minutes. Returned home with food to find browned lettuce in the salad, onions in the dish, AND (as soon as I removed the lid...) A HAIR. Gasp. There is always an issue with something and I don't know why we continue to give them the benefit of the doubt. I considered calling (and may still write corporate) but it's not worth my time tonight. I don't want coupons or apologies. Totally over it. Rather pour myself a glass of wine and forget about our rapidly declining food service industry.
