In the quest of South East Asian Cuisine, we stopped at Appayon. This food made me cry, not in sad way, but in a good way. After spending few years in Canada and trying almost all Indian / Pakistani/ Bangladeshi Restaurants , I was trying to find a place where I can get real authentic Curry. When I say authentic, I mean how its made back in home South east Asia. I tried Chicken Korma / Naga Chicken/ Fish Curry, and this is how we used to make it back in India few years back. I highly respect people who are working here and keeping the real authentic taste of food. Thanks Appayon for this experience and bringing the real taste. Highly recommend everyone to try here.
It took lil bit time but it was for some freshly cooked good foods. Chicken Roast, morog polaoChicken with scented rice Moglai Oil fried crust stuffed with eggs onion and spices Fuchkacrunchy snacks stuffed with cooked chickpeas everything were soo good. Loved to be in a Bangladeshi Restaurant like Appayon. Owner was also friendly
We tried Murog Polao, Tea and Porota. The chicken and curry they used in the Murog Polao was delicious. However the rice portion lacks a proper blend of spices. I hope they will take care of this. The tea was perfectly made and it took me back to Bangladesh! Refreshing and energizing!! The Porota was average. I guess it's just a frozen packaged Porota. The interior and washroom can be improved. Overall we were impressed with their services. I would recommend trying their food if you want to test authentic Bangladeshi food! Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible
Price. Quantity. Flavour. Customer Service. All 5*. It was a pleasant experience. We tried all the snacks items. Next time we will try out the main dish.
My second experience trying Bangladeshi/Bengali food both at different restaurants. Most people have tried Indian food, but not Bangladeshi/Bengali food. It's definitely a cuisine that many people need to discover. So flavourful while being also quite spicy! can be toned down upon request. We ordered the following. Appetizers: -Haleem: beef and lentil stew. This was incredible! Warm and hearty, and nice and spicy! -Muglai Portata: Loved this one as well! It was so tasty! Crepe filled with egg omelette, chilis, chives & onions and served with a spicy mayo Mains: -Beef Tehar: similar to a beef biryani -Jasmine Rice -Chicken Roast Pulao: so tender and moist, it was served with a rich, sweet gravy. -Tuna Fish Cakes: they were tasty, but I much preferred the other dishes which tasted more unique to me. Dessert: -Mishti Doi: traditional sweet yogurt dessert which is the perfect finish for a spicy meal I definitely recommend this restaurant. Casual setting.
Eating at this restaurant feels like enjoying a meal at home. I love the decorations and lighting around the store. It's a very clean place with no trace of any dirt. There's such a nice air of comfort in the place. Our server was very kind and helped us deal with parking. After ordering, it did not take very long to get our food. We had pabda mas with shatha bhat which was absolutely delicious. The dishes are on the pricier side but the serving sizes are so big that it's perfect for a group. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, with what definitely was Bangladeshi spice. I recommend this place to anybody looking for a good meal! Vegetarian options: The shrimp shaag was absolutely delicious. It's fragrant and very spicy. I would've eaten the entire plate. Parking: Speaking from a tourist perspective, I would walk there from a different location. It's difficult to find a parking spot near the restaurant.
Unbelievably bad experience. I took a roast and tehari, it was so bad that I am having constant stomach pain for 2 days and continuing. They just warm up 2 to 3 days old food and they just serve it. No flavour and totally dry as a biscuit. Would never suggest anyone this joke of a restaurant.
Authentic Bangladeshi cuisine. Must try items, polao roast, murog pulao, khichuri, Beef Shatkora, and Mughlai Porota. I ordered and dined in a couple of times. If you are craving some spicy food with good flavor then this is your spot.
Delicious, Spicy and authentic food! We ordered Fuchka, chicken bhuna, shrimp do-pyaza and Riu mach, also burhani which is a drink to help digest the food! Will go again definitely!Recommended dishesFuchka, Chicken Bhuna
We had beef bhuna, chicken naga, begun bhorta and daal. Everything was veryyyy good except the beef bhuna. It was very watery and lacked salt. However, the other dishes, especially the naga chicken was great! Price is unreasonably high for the quantity provided.
