This is the first time I've been to this shop and I am impressed! I believe this is the only anime shop in Ottawa. There are quite a few staff working so you're able to have your questions answered. There's a large variety of costumes, figurines, etc. I'll be back again!
This is probably the only anime store I know of in Ottawa so far. It's got a wide variety in toys books costumes and toys. It's a surprising selection for the space they have.
When The Comic Book Shoppe opened the Anime Stop anime/manga-specific storefront in the Bleeker Mall strip mall back in summer 2006, I was skeptical that there was enough of an audience for anime and manga in western Ottawa to support it, especially when you could also get anime at HMV and Future Shop, not to mention online. Going on 12 years later, Anime Stop outlasted HMV and Future Shop. I like anime and manga and I like physical media, so, while you can still find a handful of anime BluRays at Walmart and maybe Sunrise Records which took over most of the former HMV stores in Canada, Anime Stop is pretty much the only bricks and mortar location left in Ottawa where you can browse more niche anime on physical media.
Great service.Fair prices and a great selection of manga.Staff are helpful and friendly.What is on the shelves is what they have so if you’re looking for a full set of manga you have to order it in or get it from a different store.
I went to The Anime Shop/The Comic Book Shoppe looking for a particular series. The staff went out of their way to dig through boxes to help me find what I was looking for. They are also having a sale until the end of August '18, buy one back issue get the second of equal or lesser value for free.
It's a shame that one of the only anime outlets in the city is a hole in the wall with wildly overpriced merch. They got away with 200% markups back when online ordering wasn't popular, but they never adapted in the 10 years since. Similar problem with the comic book shop next door, which I believe are under the same ownership. Also the staff and owner especially couldn't care less about being friendly or helpful. You'd be lucky to get eye contact.
great selection of anime stuff here. As a big scale figure collector myself. I had made serval purchases here to support the only animate store in Ottawa. Staffs are friendly here if you ask
Great selection, staff could help a bit more. Wanted to buy a product but they didn't knew the price and had no way to know the price so i couldn't buy it. Just hoping they stay in business it's rare to have shop like these!
they have everything anime related , staff is really friendly bought a bunch of stuff there and it still looks brand new they got good quality product , their posters are great
Use to be good but the place is pricey. You can get better deals online. The overpriced dvd wall is gone. Most of the Mangas now can be bought from chapters.
