Ancora!

We went there for lunch it was delicious so we went back for dinner House salad was wilted. Steak was passable and the fresh pasta was barely cooked. Maybe we ll try again maybe not ....

"The kitchen closed three minutes ago. But can I make you a salad"? Am I being fussy to expect the courtesy of a last minute meal? I've enjoyed this courtesy so many times before that when I'm denied, I wonder if I'm being perceived as a nebbish. Yes, the kitchen has to close sometime, but three minutes late and salad only? It's no fun watching people eat a nice meal when you've been denied dinner somewhat arbitrarily. Is this all downtown Utica has for after hours? I just read that Ancora means encore. Ah, no encore from that kitchen tonight. I drink my glass of Riesling hungry. Ancora means encore because we are next door to the Stanley Theater and after theater is an entirely respected meal time in any theater district in the world. But not in Utica apparently.

I've been here a few times for dinner and have always had AMAZING food. I came for lunch today (pick up - since it was on my lunch break). I ordered the roasted beet salad with chicken. OMGGGGGG! This is the best salad I've ever had! And the staff was quick and friendly. I made it back to work with plenty of time to enjoy this to-die-for lunch!

I went there for lunch, Very good service. Food is amazing must go to place.

Dan and staff ate wonderful and very accommodating and the food is exceptional. You can never go wrong eating here.
