Cute small restaurant in the heart of Hess Village with indoor and outdoor seating. Tex-Mex style tacos, not authentic Mexican tacos if that is what you are expecting. Really enjoyed the Spicy Margarita. Tried 3 tacos - Fish Taco, Ground Beef and Brussels Sprouts. Fish Taco - good, probably my favourite one and fish had a nice crispy batter. Ground Beef - least favourite, lack of flavour and not enough beef Brussels Sprouts - brussels cooked perfectly, however it was a little bland as well Overall, it was okay and would make good drunk food.
Stopped by this afternoon for a quick bite and sat on the patio. Lots of seating available and great service. Had my food within 10 minutes of ordering! The margarita is to die for, and I highly recommend the salsa trio the green salsa is the best!. Ordered the birria tacos but was surprised at the spice level. If you’re not a fan of spice, I’d avoid this dish! Definitely had my nose running! Overall 5 stars. I’ll definitely be back!
Overall food, drink and atmosphere were nice and trendy. I would go back to the restaurant! Their rum & pineapple cider was amazing! It was a nice warm up for the cold weather
We told our friends that we are going to Hamilton and first thing they said was :" Try Tacos there!" And they were right! The moment that you come to this place you will fall in love with it. The environment is very cozy and service is very good too. It is located in a very beautiful street and you can sit outside to enjoy the neighbourhood too. But food is why you come here! The choices of taco was not that much that confuses you and not that little that restrict your choices. They were other mexican food in the menu but we all ordered tacos and were very happy with our food!
My boyfriend and I went here for late lunch and it was amazing. Very cool vibe in the restaurant. We loved the open kitchen and watching the chefs cook. It did make it a little smoky at times but it added to the experience. We had queso and chips, a crunch wrap and birria tacos. Everything was delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try out some other things on the menu!
This restaurant is a joke. If you wanna waste money and get ripped off well you are going to the right place. If you are reading this review you are most likely googling Mexican restaurants nearby with good review am I right? I read some negative reviews on how the portion of the food is small and not really getting what you are paying for, so the other reviews for this restaurant is accurate. Nothing special here aside for a good stroll in a small alley. Waitress wants to make a little bit more tip for a small order so she decided to charge $2 OPEN FOOD for extra Caramel sauce and by the way its not even a real caramel sauce. Churros was a size of a sharpie to give you a better sense of that photo. Over all disappointing.
Not sure if I get the hype. The food and experience weren’t BAD, but I think there was so much more to expect and we were thoroughly let down. Queso just wasn’t anything special at all, and this seemed to be a common theme throughout the meal. The chips were over fried, which could’ve been looked past if there wasn’t an absurd amount given considering the tiny portion of queso. As for the main dishes, the ground beef in the crunch wrapo supremeo seemed under seasoned and overall underwhelming. It was just so plain, I’m wondering why this dish was called famous on their menu. You could probably find better quality and portions of everything on the menu elsewhere. Just so average.
The overall atmosphere was great and the service was great Thanks Karen! My friends and I ordered their tacos and churros but was a little disappointed with the fish tacos - which we have been dying to try since not a lot of taco places offer this - it was oily and contained a lot of breading instead of fish. The other tacos we ordered were better and tastier compared to their fish taco. I got the pork carnitas and fish tacos, along with a mojito drinks were good.
The positives are friendly staff and cocktails were good. The birria tacos were a bit burnt but taste was good. The Al pastor tacos were too salty for our liking. Nice patio and setting except for the loud hard rock music playing, it felt out of place.
good food, good music, good beer…. I am a Mexican recently arrived in Canada and have been to several countries and this is perhaps the closest thing to our food. recommended.
