My favorite place to go when my soul needs restoration. It's whimsical and magical and usually smells like the earth after a rain. I've bought succulents and trees and flowers here. The range of succulents is astounding and the prices are very affordable! The place is huge. They have a whole wall piled with hundreds of old, unique flower pots. I've found heart shaped pots, sunset colored pots, beautiful embossed pots, neutral pots... there are so many possibilities for creating your own pot of succulents. They also sell potting soil for cheap and will measure out how much you need for the plants you're buying. I haven't looked much in the antiques section because the plants are just so wonderful, but there are SO many beautiful antiques if you're into that! The owners are absolutely lovely people. I'm glad that places like this are still around.

Knowledgeable about their plants. Got a plant there and it is lovely and still thriving. Plenty of selection.

Has a lot of rare plants you can't find in Iowa, I love going here, great selection, could use some remodeling but nice people

Such a cute place! Love the hundreds and hundreds of succulents and unique plants you can't find anywhere else in Ames. Very favorite place in Ames to be if you're a plant lover like me!

I had great experience with Ames Greenhouse. I ordered online and the sympathy arrangement I ordered showed up when it was scheduled to and the recipients loved it. While it did not look entirely like the picture online, they put together a beautiful arrangement and added more "high end" flowers than I expected.
