"aMa Bistro is a family-oriented restaurant on State Street in the heart of Ann Arbor. Established in 2014, aMa has kept its simplistic ways. Striving to always bring fresh, clean, and made-with-love food. We enjoy cooking international dishes as much as we enjoy preparing classic, home-style foods. We're as adept at preparing intricate and complex menu options as we are in preparing simple and delicious dishes."

You need all of your party present to put your name down which is quite annoying but I understand. The food was so good and cheaper than expected. They have a qr code menu which is nice. They didn't split our bill or ask if it needed to be split which was a little hassle between our group. Love the decor and the staff was very friendly! Vegetarian options: Very accommodating for vegetarian options. They were happy to substitute non dairy milk as well.
The coffee creamer was expired looked like an egg white floating, so I told the waiter and asked for another cup. She annoyingly plopped another coffee on the table and gave me THE SAME CREAMER. I put the creamer in my coffee- It was expired again. They agreed to take the coffee off of my bill. The overall meal was pretty good their eggs Benedict is light although the bread underneath it was really soggy. The major issue I have with this restaurant is the fact that they offer a side of tomatoes- as you can see in the photo below these tomatoes look like they came from Subway. Tomatoes should only be offered as a side and restaurant if they are grown locally and it is in season. These tomatoes were bland, hard, and looks like they were kept in the fridge for 3 months before they cut it. Not to mention- it's extremely thinly sliced tomatoes slapped on a plate? They didn't do anything to them, no olive oil or even a little salt- nothing. How is this a side??? I tried to put hot sauce on them with some seasoning but as I said before- they were hard tomatoes. Down right nasty. As a restaurant with THAT much business- you guys can afford good quality produce.
Second time here for a breakfast. Super delicious and great atmosphere Waiters were fast and friendly, the food tasted amazing as well.
A great place for breakfast by campus in downtown Ann Arbor. Service was good. The portions were appropriate. It is worth a visit when visiting Ann Arbor
This establishment has good food. Don’t get me wrong, it is cheap, typically fast, and pretty yummy. HOWEVER, the woman who works at the front and manages the place is not kind. She made the entire experience poor for a birthday brunch. It is not possible for them to accommodate more than 7 people and they do not speak nicely to their customers. I will not support this business.
Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else. The lady who runs the host table is extremely rude and off-putting. The food here used to be good but during the pandemic the quality really went down and never got back to pre-pandemic since. Produce isn't fresh, the order was messed up, food was bland, and it was served cold. The last time I stopped by, I waited to be seated for 30 minutes. When I finally inquired about the wait, a young male server told me they skipped my name and had seated 4 parties past mine after host told me to wait in the corridor to be called in… I will not be coming back here. Do better.
It's a pretty average breakfast place. I like the atmosphere, but the food is mediocre at best and the prices are pretty high for what you're getting.Food: 3/5
Stopped here for lunch while visiting the university. My daughter had poached eggs and fruit, my wife had pumpkin nut bread bread french toast and I had one of the best gyros ever! In fact, everyone was very happy with their meal and service was excellent! We did eat inside but didn't stress as the owners have done a nice job keeping customers safe.
Came for breakfast. Very good food...very fast...in and out in 30 minutes on a Saturday morning. Food was very tasty and has browns tasted as if they were freshly grated in house. I look forward to going back when I am in Ann arbor next. Definitely put it on your list of places to go.
Interior is nice and looks pretty but the food is super low quality. I wonder if the people leaving 5 stars are being paid because dining hall food is better to be honest.
