The quality of the ingredients is top level and the craftsmanship equally high. Everything was delicious but the rye chocolate chip cookie was the most pleasant surprise. It the first time I’ve ever had rye in a cookie and didn’t know what to expect but it was clearly identifiable. Definitely want more! This place specializes in sourdough bread and pizza. Need to try those now!
Hands down one of the best pizzas I have had in Ottawa! The sourdough garlic bread had so much flavor without being overpowering and was cooked perfectly. And the staff were super friendly!
Delicious baked goods all made with gut-friendly wild sourdough and freshly ground on-site in their own stone ground mill!! heritage grains gives the products this beautiful flavour and texture. They did amazing sourdough pizzas last year as well. We Have tried the breads, scones, dinner biscuits, dinner rolls, cookies and pecan tarts. All were very good flavour and amazing mouth feel and textures. Very impressed. I wish they had a bakery closer to Ottawa Center, but was able to find a few satellite locations and at farmers markets in the summertime is a bonus
Discovered this gem a few months ago, and I keep going back! This is their breakfast brioche bun with bacon, egg and sharp cheddar. Oh. My! So good! Perfect blend and amount of ingredients. The sourdough was so soft and tasty. Sat on my tailgate, overlooking luvly green soccer fields, and savoured every bite!
I wanted to love this place, and I'll give it another chance. Great customer service, but I find that their baked goods and savoury items were lacking in textures and flavours. The muffins lacked moisture, and the cookies were too delicate to hold in one piece. I like the concept of this place, but nothing stood out for me.
Really neat little bakery with their own mill. They sell flour, bread, pastries, accessories and a few hot lunch items. The grilled cheese is really good!
Impressive for the baked goods, the grains fresh milled and unmilled, packed in paper you can buy and the selection of other local-ish goods some cheese and dairy products, a coffee roasted right nearby - the Artery is great!. Many offered for delivery online. Cookies in particular have been AMAZING try those Chocolate Rye ones or the almost-gooey in the best way ginger cookie. Which I had eaten half of before I took this photo because, priorities. Also in the pic: Specialty 'pi week' pies which were delicious and pi-y, and butter tarts that hit the spot by having lots of nuts and an actually set, not spilling all over the place so you have to eat the entire tart in 4 bites before it becomes an empty shell, filling! Did I mention the pie/tart crust is delightfully crispy and salty?!?
Took a break from cycling and had a very tasty breakfast sandwich Also picked up a homemade granola bar for the road! Would be great if they introduce espresso-based coffee at some point
Just discovered Almanac and am so glad I did! Delicious sourdough, muffins and egg buns. Definitely my new go-to supplier. I'll be back!
This might be the best coffee I've ever had in Ottawa. I came in to grab a coffee before work, and even though the store was closed they still served me a coffee. I'll absolutely be heading back and recommending to others. Cheers!
