Great place to eat out with friends and awesome selection of food! we got seated right away but the food took awhile to get to our table but definitely worth the wait! The tteokbokki was awesome and the spiciness was perfect. We got some shrimp tempura and dipped it in the sauce. The soups all came with rice and sides to share. Plentiful amounts and very nice staff too! Highly recommend!
This was my first time trying Korean food and I am so glad I dined here. The food was fantastic. So delicious. Especially the Chicken Bokum- that’s a must. It’s spicy and hot. The vibe is great and the staff very sweet. :
Delicious Korean food! Service was quick and food was delicious. I highly recommend getting the croquette and the seafood pancake as starters they were also delicious the next day. The japchae noodles with vegetables was a nice light meal to balance out the heavy rice and meat. Would recommend!
The entire dinner was absolutely exceptional. The flavors of each dish were so different from one another and each dish had its own array of unique textures to keep each bite different than the last. All dishes were not too salty or oily and were perfectly balanced! Edamame and Mandoo pork dumplings were both great and perfectly cooked- 4.5/5 Bulgogi beef and rice M3B was a must try, massive portion of perfectly seasoned and super tender beef. Absolutely delicious and could not nearly finish the plate, left with left overs! 4.7/5 Japchaebap M12 stir fired vermicelli noodles with vegetables and beef. The noodles and broth had an amazing enjoyable texture but there was not as much beef as other dishes and the flavor was lighter. 4.3/5
I was supposed to go here for a get-together but they’re closed on Mondays so I went to it on a different date by myself. The food was definitely amazing, the menu photos of the prices posted here are still accurate. I ordered the Chicken Soondubu M8 and the bowl was filled almost to the brim. It wasn’t just soup and a couple of tofu pieces here and there, it was filled with onions, mushrooms, chicken, whole tofu pieces!!! It came with a rice bowl, sweet potatoes, kimchi and sesame oil mung bean sprouts on the side. Everything was so good. I like spicy food, so there is definitely a spice on the items with but not overwhelming. The flavour still came through. The wait time was not that bad either and everything was very fresh. My food was still simmering when it got to me. Along with the food, I also ordered this canned grape drink called “Coco”. I recommend it too, it wasn’t too sweet and it had little coconut jellies. Reminded me of mogu mogu. I recommend it to anyone who wants to try great and filling Korean food. I even had to ask for a take-out container, which was surprising to me because I never do that. I’m always able to finish all my food at restaurants, but this place was just great. I was really hungry too, I just had a 3 hour exam and hadn’t eaten for hours so I thought I could finish it. I spent about 26$, but that also included a tip for the two great waitresses. 10/10 would recommend and come back again. I’d return by myself, and if you want to bring some friends a group of 2-4 people seems ideal for this cute restaurant.
Food is tasty and portions are good. Loved the seafood pancake. they were short staffed so le the waiting was long but still worth itFood: 5/5
People are lying about reviews now. WHO PAID YOU!? Best Korean food is not a true statement The food was bland. I got the recommended stuff: M6 was bland as hell. It was boiled meat in water! If that was soup, I can do it too. M7: God help them. Salty, too intense in flavours, do they have different people cooking different meals? I couldn’t even finish mine and the other was thrown out. Please hear my cry, don’t do it! At least they got the boiled rice right.
This is a restaurant you need to come early. I tried coming here some other time during regular dinner hours, the line up was out the door, so that didn’t work out. This time we got smart and came right when it opens at 3pm. A restaurant that can afford to open only from 3pm to 8:30pm has to be doing something right. When we walked in at 3:10pm, it was already half full, and every table was occupied by 4:00pm. We orders two beers, Seaweed Salad, Bulgogi Bibimbap, Kimchijeon, Naengmyun, Pork Lettuce Wrap. Seaweed Salad was standard. Bulgogi Bibimbap beef stone bowl rice came out sizzling in the stone bowl, and it remained sizzling for 10 mins after it was served. We did put our ears into the bowl to listen to it Kimchijeon kimchi pancake is better than any I’ve had in Ottawa so far, it stayed its shape and did not fall apart when it was picked up, while it was made thin and crispy. I’ve had some other ones that were either too thick, too doughy or it falls apart on contact Naengmyun cold noodle, my personal favourite to balance out the spicy hot stuff that the usual Korean meals was very much justified in its own right. Usually it’s served with sliced pears, not sliced apples that we got, but I guess maybe it’s not exactly pear season in the middle of spring while pear is an autumn fruit. Pork lettuce wrap. I’m used to this being served with pork belly with skin on. However, this was served with some other cuts, I’m assuming it’s Pork shoulder because it was well layered, yet without skin. Initially I was a tiny bit disappointed as I am a huge fan of pork belly. But when i put it together in the lettuce with the pickled shredded daikon, the house sauceon, ans voila! It was a bite of heaven. Not only was the pork perfectly cooked, moist and succulent, yet with just the right firmness, it came with the perfect balance of lean and fatty meat. If I have to mention one thing that can be improved about this dinning experience was that it would be beneficial for them to have enough servers to begin the shift. This one poor girl was by herself for the first half hour until another server came to her relief. and then one more came another 30 mins later. This first one did all she could trying to run a full dinning room. Although she did forgot our beers, we could not blame her at all, as she was literally running around the place by herself like a chicken with no head.
everything was delicious! took galbi tang short rib soup, galbi was tender. bulgogi, tasted great. big portion. the potato croquette was very good, my son loved it. service is great, spacious dining room for a downtown location. kid friendly. location is easy to miss when driving there, there's a big tree and the building is dark brown. parking: we noticed a free parking sign in the back of restaurant when we left the restaurant. will definitely come back
We ordered from their Rideau location and it was our first time trying this restaurant. We all got the bulgogi beef bibimbap with tteok-bokki. The food was delicious and generous in portions. The flavors were amazing and the egg on top was cooked perfectly. The tteok-bokki was slightly on the fishy side as in you could tell there was fish sauce in it which some people may not like but we didn't have an issue. The service was also great. Over the phone the lady that took our order was super friendly an when I saw her at the restaurant she was so polite. We will definitely be going back to try more dishes!
