Nice community pool with clean water and good lane flow. Well trained staff.
Went here for a swim meet and it was terrible. Not at all suitable, as it is a very small facility with insufficient space for the swimmers on deck, no seating in the tiny viewing area. Bring a folding chair if you are lucky enough to find a a space to put it down. Signage is pretty bad if you are looking for the change rooms for the pool or the stairs to the viewing area. It IS a small town so I can't completely crap on it, but swim meets should NOT be held here.
Sauna is nice and hot! Change rooms are small. Lane swimming schedule is limited. No early morning swims, except Sundays.
The Alan Strike facility has an excellent squash club with leagues, ladder, group play and tournaments. Upstairs viewing area to watch some great squash. Great fun and good competition!
Update: It's gotten better so I give it a full 5 stars now. I love the place! Lifeguards are cool and reasonable, unlike Newcastle where they are sticklers to the rules and accuse you of being under age without a swim test in the deep end when I'm literally 18.nnOriginal with some modifications:nIt's a place that's very nice. The Squash Club seems to be happy with the place and active there. They have different level coaches to get people playing including an awesome teacher from next door go Beatty!. They have the ROC there which is the swim club.nThese resident clubs and diehard users are what keep it running!nnI'll be honest that the place has gotten more disgusting since the beginning of summer break. Obviously more populated areas will have some more dirt on the floor to clean but it's gotten so much worse that it's painfully clear what is clean and isn't clean on the changerooms' floor, the effort doesn't seem there enough. I suppose with summer comes more traffic there, and as a result, there is more nasty hair on the floor in the family changeroom and in the pool! The gendered ones seem to be more clean but the family one is more abused. The cleaning needs to be done better, and what's the point of the filter room if it isn't effectively filtering out these nasty hairs!?
