Had fried snapper, rice and plantain. It was very tasty. I haven't Haitian food before and look forward to trying other food on the menu.
Finally made my way to Alabon. Food was delicious and plentiful. I've been eating homecooked Haitian food for many years and this is definitely comparable in quality. The price is pretty steep $23 for a meal but since there's no other options for Haitian food in the city, its worth it. Other than that, I would encourage everyone to support this family business and go get some yummy Haitian food!
Hidden gem of a restaurant in Scarborough. I got take-out for my workplace so we ordered one of each meal; chicken, fried pork, and goat. Goat was by far my favorite, it was super tender and juicy, a must try! We also got a side order of their delicious macaroni salad and a bunch of Couronne fruit champagne which was also delightful! It's like cream soda... But better. Besides the great food, the restaurant is also owned and managed by lovely people. Thanks for bringing a taste of authentic Haitian food to our neighborhood, will definitely be back!!
The food was average and enjoyable but what I didn’t appreciate is that the lady charged us for gryot ,Dijon Dijon rice and salad she charged is $26 per plate so I want to ask the owner if this is the truth. We thought it was $26 for both the food but she charges $26 per plate . The place had no menu And their menu was practically just going on Facebook that we could not find the prices. For $26 per plate we should’ve gotten more food . This place needs to do better. I am highly disappointed I will never eat here again and do not eat here.
SOOO GOOD!! I’m Jamaican. It was my first time trying Haitian food, this food was the bomb.com lol — I loved it!! I had griotpork, fried chicken, goat, rice and beans, plantain, pasta salad, picklez and the other sauce, sooooo tasty. The entire meal was so flavourful— I wish I had tried it. They give big portions, the value of the meal is sooo worth it. The amount of food I got could have served maybe 2-4 people. I will be back. I live in the west end, I travelled nearly 50km for this food and it was well worth it!!
Best Haitian food in the gta hands down! Griot is a 12 on 10! The djondjon rice is a 15/10....blessed hands and the blessings transfer through every bite.
Food was amazing! Their riz djon djon is to die for! The owners are very nice. Definite suggestion if you're looking for amazing haitian food in the GTAFood: 5/5
The griot plate is extremely delicious! Moving to Toronto, I found that that it was almost impossible to find Haitian food, specifically “home cooked”. Although this location is a 35mins drive away, it is absolutely worth it. I would hope that one day they expand!
Food is okay, I had better Haitian food elsewhere. As much as I like to support local black owned business, this place ripped us off since we are not Haitian/African. We ordered the goat very dry and griyo with macaroni pie that tasted like boiled pasta with cheeses. They were supposed to come with coleslaw and plantain, only got the plantain but no coleslaw on either. Total came up to $46 and still gave them tip. How? The prices online does not match with the total we paid for.
I feel like people who are not used to real good Haitian food will find this place okay, but I'm from Montreal and also lived in Ottawa so it can't compare. Since this city doesn't have much to offer in terms of Haitian food, I guess it's alright.
