No proper shelving and price tags. Most of the shelved products are EXPIRED. It smells bad inside. Too narrow spaces to move. Higher prices overall. Completely unprofessional management. Trying to sweep all mistakes under the halal and "brother, brother" carpet. What a shame for halal markets and Muslims. I wish they could give back the money they make from customers with a better service. I have been waiting for this for at least two years and they just get worse and worse every and each day....
It was my first time going there. The store is slightly big compared to other halal places I’ve been to, it has two floors and includes everything. You can get your meat and also shop for mediterranean food, canned food, spices and frozen food in the upper level. They also sell some kitchen tools/ housewares! I had good customer service experience, the staff was friendly and helpful.
I have no issues with their meat, but their customer service is terrible. Yes, it was very close to closing time when I called to confirm if I could purchase some goat meat for curry. I had the option of going to another butchers, but went because of the assurance I was given. But, guess what, they said they can’t dice the meat!! Worst part is the guy who answered the call simply denied.. Poor, very poor customer service. Not coming back for what it is worth. Not recommended at all.
Most of the products are expired! Most of the metal packing are damaged for dairy products. Smell is not pleasant in store. Be very careful with products, you can easily be poisoned by expired products! We will never go to this shop again.
I went out on a limb to make a lamb tagine dish for the 1st time and thus needed pieces of lamb meat. The butcher recommended that I use lamb shoulder because it was most tender. I agreed and he cut it into pieces sized appropriately for lamb tagine. The dish turned out great and so the next time I need cut-up lamb pieces, I will be back.
I asked for soft boney meat eatable bones / white bones if they have. Otherwise, I’ll go somewhere else as I came from Kamloops and I needed those for my family. Bought 10lb but didn’t give me a single soft boney meat. Halal is halal enough!!
Most of the products are expired! We showed those expired products to the seller she told us “it cost just 5 dollars” it is ridiculous! In addition to that almost all container metal packing are damaged for the products, especially on dairy products. As far as I know it is not allowed to sell either expired products or products with damaged packaging.
One of the best Halal meat shops in Vancouver-Burnaby area. Meats are fresh and the staffs are very good with the customers.
I have been Customer of Al Salam for the last 15 years. Through the year I have seen alot of unprofessional attitudes. However I was keep going because of hallal meat. Last time they really got on my nerves I purchased a Barbecue. When I used it I noted it is missing the cover. I went to ask for the parts that was missing they were very rude and unprofessional and didn't accept the return or giving me the missing part for it. Yes I used the product I come to get the missing parts which was the cover. The photo says everything I don't have say anything. You Customer look at the picture and judge the situation.
Meat is so good. Price is not cheap. The worst part is they are not very friendly. Shop close time is 7, but if you reach after 6 PM, then also they are not willing to cut the meat. They are not caring about customer satisfaction it seems
