Al-Balad Bakery

Delicious and fresh Lebanese style pies with super friendly customer service. They were so kind the first time we visited the shop that we decided to make Al-Balad our go-to spot for Lebanese pies. Our favourites are the meat and cheese and the spicy veggies. We also love the mini pies which are great as an appetizer for when you have guests over. So happy this gem opened up in Kanata so close to our home.

I was delighted to see this new Lebanese style bakery nearby. The place is so safe and so clean, and the owners were very welcoming and informative about the yummy stuff they have. The prices are so reasonable and their pies selections are so detailed in their menu. Looking at the pies pictures made me so hungry for their foods. The meat pie was so good, and so generous in meat amount. I loved how they offer to add lemon juice and hot pepper to it, it made it twice as yummy. The akkawi cheese and the cheese mix pies were so yummy. I had more than I should, but no regrets, their food is light and very healthy. The food there is any time food, you can eat at any time. They have mini pies, bite size stuff that I soon hope to try. Awsome for game nights or when you have a get together, or as a side even for regular dinner. Absolutely I recommend you try this place, it really is upward from the other bakeries I visited. You don't have to take my word for it, let your taste buds be the judge.

Simply THE BEST in all of Ottawa. As a person who has been to many middle eastern countries, I can say that Al Balad's pies even exceed the deliciousness of the pies made there. Also, The staff is friendly, professional, and experienced. If I do not order from Al Balad every morning, I simply cannot work. I have an addiction to their "egg and cheess" pies. All their other pies are delicious and I usually like to try something new from the menu every once in a while. Their dough is so fresh. I told the baker about this and he said that they do not use the dough anymore if it has been out for longer than 2 hours. Amazing!

Amazing pies! I just ordered a few to try them out. I will definitely be back. It was fresh and hot when I got my order. The prices are very reasonable and the people working there are friendly as well!

Affordable, delicious, and charitable. They put an amazing amount of zataar spice on the bread. The food is extremely affordable and the quality is high. And when my card was flagged for fraud, they still gave me the food I ordered. If you’re looking to support a local bakery, this is the place.

Simply the best Lebanese pie I had in Canada in the last 5 years living here. Quick and friendly service, always freshly prepared and baked, amazingly seasoned and some excellent true to it's origins flavors - while also having some "canadianized versions" for the non-authentic or creative fans of Lebanese pies. Locally owned and operated, I wish all the best for the family of owners as I'll be always coming back.

Best pies I had in the city, even better than ones from Montreal! Ordered the zatar, veggie and cheese with lemon. The veggies are fresh and crisp, bread is crispy on end and soft and the zatar is on point. Staff are very friendly and it’s great to call ahead before ordering. This is my go to spot, excellent ingredients and quality product!

AMAZING! My wife and I have eaten at almost every Lebanese Pie spot in Ottawa and Al-Balad bakery is the WINNER. The bread on the Zataar and Cheese pies are super soft and fluffy - unlike other spots where they are tough to chew. The food is never greasy and the customer service is amazing. Super nice owners and workers. This is now our go-to spot. PLEASE never change your recipe Al-Balad!
