We have ordered from here many times and have always been impressed. We consistently get the veggie sampler and it’s one of the best in the area! We are able to stretch one sampler over multiple meals. Friends have tried other dishes with rave reviews as well. The only mark against them is their take out process. I always place my order over the phone and arrive on time, but the food usually takes 10-15 minutes after my arrival. It’s worth it, but worth noting if you’re going to check it out.

Agelgel Ethiopian Restaurant is the best one in the US and Minnesota serving delicious Ethiopian and Eritrean foods. Their Tibes fried beef is the best. In addition, the staff are very welcoming and supportive. Customer service is up to the standard in the restaurant. Zelalem, the owner of the restaurant, is always with the staff welcoming customers. He is humble, professional and knowledgeable. You may ask him for his recommendations, and he knows the specials of the house based on your needs. Thanks for your service, Zeli. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience best Eritrean and Ethiopian delicious foods.
I was amazed by this establishment! The food was out of this world good. Such an amazing harmony of flavors!! I ordered 3 dishes which was WAY TOO much for 2 people, and so incredibly filling. Not only will I order again regularly, but I will also tell all of my friends about how good Ethiopian food is.
Great flavors! Wish we had time to dine in, as to-go is a bit more difficult with injera, tibs and the like, but it was still so delicious! Carryout food was ready just a little after the time they told me it would be ready for pick up, no more than 5 minutes, not a big deal! Nice atmosphere in the restaurant and staff was friendly. Hopefully we'll have time to dine in soon for the full experience. I would recommend!
I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Over the years they have been good but they got worse over the years. The servers have a tendency of going back to your receipts and tipping themselves 2 days later. The first time it happened to me, I thought it was a glitch, the second time it happened I called and showed up. The server who served me 2 days ago just acted all shocked and told the manager isn’t in. I asked her when he will be in and she said she doesn’t know. I’m so disappointed because I’m literally their everyday customer. I come to this restaurant atleast 5-6 times a month. This is illegal and unprofessional on all levels.
This was the first time I had been there. We ordered the veggie /meat sampler with gluten free injera. Everything was delicious. The only part I don't enjoy was one of the meat dishes had a lot of fat/grizzle I had to spit out. I will only order the vegetarian one next time. I also had the avacado smoothie. It was kind of bland, but OK ..tasted like diluted avacado with a little sugar. I mostly ordered it to help coat my throat, since some of the food is spicy.
Moved from WA to MN awhile back and been missing ethiopian food so much. I read all of these great reviews and chose to get grub from Agelgil. I ordered for my sweetie and myself and we both felt awful after eating some of it. We tossed most of it to avoid the encore upset gastrointestinal effects! Wouldn’t recommend.
Excellent food. Tried the beef sampler plate and all the dishes were very flavorful and tasty without being too spicy.
