The Agape Centre has been a tremendous support for my family over the years, and I’m truly grateful for the help they've provided. While you don’t always get to choose exactly what you receive, the staff and volunteers are always kind, respectful, and willing to help in any way they can.nnThe building is consistently clean, the system is easy to follow, wait times are usually short, and there’s plenty of parking available. It's a well-run, welcoming place that truly cares about the community.nnI highly recommend the Agape Centre to anyone who needs a bit of extra support before payday. Their compassion and efficiency make a real difference.
Had some lovely variety of items. Clothes, jewelry, home decor.nFound a few treasures here.nNo taxes on the items so that’s a plus!nThere is one changing stall to try on clothes.
Agape’s thrift store “New for You” is a registered charity. Which means no tax!nThey are also way more reasonably priced than Value Village. The added bonus of shopping here is that you are giving back to the community. All proceeds from the store are used to fund the community kitchen.nnI have stumbled upon some amazing finds here. Kitchen items, bedding and decor. But my favourite has been a Pretty Angel brand dress. They sometimes get brand new clothes that are name brand and they sell for next to nothing. 500% check out their thrift shopnnAgape community kitchen offers lunch monday to friday from 11am to 1pm. You never know what you’ll get. Soup is always on the menu but it changes constantly. Anyone in need of a meal is welcome. I have had some wonderful dishes here - props to the chef for all he does.nnRemember the people serving you are volunteers. Please be kind to them. They are lovely to you, be lovely back. Chris is “the guy” here. Always so friendly, he keeps an eye on the door and the seating during lunch. There’s always a positive vibe here and I attribute that to Chris.nnThe agape foodbank is a monthly appointment. You need to fill out an application form and provide proof of family members. At the time of your appointment a volunteer will greet you and bring you and an empty shopping cart into the back room. The volunteers will take you through to “shop” for your items. They let you know what time take from each area and you have the freedom to choose. I love this about agape because I’ve never been to a foodbank before that did not just hand you a box filled with random items. Having the choice makes you feel like a person. I appreciate the Agape
Very nice thrift store with proceeds going right back to the community. They have real thrift store prices - nothing crazy like Value Village's sky-high prices for second hand goods. The staff are kind and there are good finds for everyone.
This food bank gives out meat that is rotten and will make you severely sick and unfortunately right now I am a regular user of this food bank and this has been several months now that I have received absolutely rancid meat and we need to put into affect higher standards for what the food bank is allowed to give you because the people using this service in some cases cannot afford food and rely on their food bank supply to get them through the month and it's sad that the regular volunteers have a poor attitude and treat everyone like crap and don't care about what they are giving people and I've come to realize they never check the date nor clean out the food that is extremely bad and passed date
