Higher-end Japanese deli/ grocer near Ambleside! They specialize in premium sushi and Iwate wagyu so things are a bit pricier here.nnTheir sushi is decent but it probably won’t get you full. Instead I would recommend you to try some of the wagyu dishes such as beef curry melt in your mouth! and wagyu nigiri also melt in your mouth!. Those are great samplers to try out Iwate wagyu.nnThey also have variety of deep fried foods great for snacks. My fav are menchi-katsu seasonal and katsu sando!
A very interesting Japanese grocery store. In addition to the usual products and wagyu beef, the prepared food section is especially worth recommending—everything is delicious, especially the wagyu curry. It's a great idea to stop by when you have time, grab a few side dishes, and have a picnic at the beach next door. What could be better?
Came to this location with my family as we were heading to Ampleside for the afternoon. My wife say it was a Japanese market so it interested us all as we love Japanese food.nnThere was lots to see in the store like wagyu beef and fresh seafood for purchase. They had a lot of to-go items like sushi to donburi for purchase and there are microwaves to heat up food if you need it and a few seating spots. Today they had $2.50 special for their wagyu croquettes and it was delicious. We also ordered Salmon Oshi, Salmon Avocado Bowl, and House Mae Wagyu Curry with rice. All the items were freshly made and delicious. Pricing is a little bit higher than average but you are paying for the quality and you are in West Vancouver.nnOverall was happy with the experience at this Japanese grocery store and will be back again in the future.
Greta little market in West Vancouver with Japanese food and goods! Highly recommend trying the hot curry and rice which is served fresh and comes at a reasonable price. There are also other Japanese foods sold here like chopsticks and more, as well as other supermarket items. The interior is nicely decorated and is a great spot along your walk down this street!
I was super excited to see the Aburi Market since it wasn’t there the last time that we were in Vancouver. . My wife and I had dinner at our favourite restaurant, Minami and stopped in before and after to check it out. We were recently in Japan and we were excited to see a true Japanese style store.nnWe picked up chopsticks, konbu, togarashi and our favourite rice crackers from Japan to take home on our flight back. I would have bought more to take home, but our suitcases were full. They have takeout and even wagyu beef. If I lived nearby I would definitely take advantage of this spot and it’s hard to find items and food.
