Abelardos Mexican Food

I ate here today, 05/02/2017, and I have to say that I was not too impressed. I ordered a hard-shell beef taco, and on any other day but Tuesday, this taco costs $2.29+tax which makes it about $2.45. This taco is about the same size as a Taco Bell taco, but you do get about 10% more ingredients, including beef. The shell is very brittle and falls apart instantly, so it is very messy and difficult to eat. With Taco Bell, the shell retains some structural integrity to it as you eat it and it makes it more manageable to eat. Flavor wise, I would give it to Abelardos, barely, and also the ingredients are slightly higher quality. So, what it comes down to is that you get about the same amount of food, Abelardos has a slight edge on the amount of ingredients and quality, but you pay over a dollar more per taco. There is just no way to justify choosing Abelardos over Taco Bell. If Abe's had blown Taco Bell away with portions or taste, maybe I could be happy with it, but I would not spend my hard earned money here. Went here for lunch during night shift. The gentlemen there were nice and let us know what was going on when our food took a little longer to cook. They were preparing for closing and showed no issue with completing our order for us. Will definitely return!

I usually have to issues with this location, but the other night was a real deal-breaker for me. I had ordered 2 large orders of the cream cheese jalapeno poppers. When I got home, I realized I didn't have them, so I went back. When I got there, the manager told me that the cashier had already given me one order. I told him that we had not received either one when he brought back one large order. He went to go "check the cameras", and came back and told me that we had already received one order so he brought me a small order. I work in the food business and its just upsetting that I paid 6 dollars for 5 cream cheese jalapeños.

I've eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. The food is made to order, reasonably priced, and delicious. I recommend trying one of their many burritos.
