A Ladybug Bakery and Cafe

Love this place. The only downside that this place has is its location and the fact that it is so far from the city. That said, the waffles here are amazing and the coffee is great as well. I’ve been here multiple times even though it’s completely out of the way because the waffles and the coffee are that good. Try the Belgian chocolate waffles and trust me you will not be disappointed. 5/5 definitely worth going!

YYC is very big into brunch and you'll find most places with at least an hour wait. Lovely family French restaurant. You will get a spot to sit here with much less of a wait. The food and service here is excellent! Have their salmon eggs Benny. And a vanilla latte. But really...you cannot go wrong with any of the dishes. You will be very surprised and delighted even with their exotic dishes.

Good French food (lighter fare - crepes, waffles, pastas, burger) made from good ingredients. Some dishes are extremely good (great breakfast sandwich and pastas too). Also, lots of great pastries and bread ( try the cereal bread). Good service and the new owners are experimenting and fine-tuning the menu. Bright cheery decor. I have come here regularly for 4 years. Highly recommended.

Great little location. I found this as it was part of a list of coffee shop recommendations for Calgary and thought I'd take a chance. A Ladybug, is a worthy inclusion as a vibrant, buzzing cafe in the Aspen suburb. Less cute, than well stocked with a variety of take out and dine in options. Free WiFi without the hassle of a password is always a plus as well.

This place did not meet my expectations. Cool concept you order up front, pay and find a spot to sit and they bring stuff out to you when it’s ready. Lots of bakery goods to select from, and they look delicious. However -I ordered a sweet crepe which I felt was already kind of expensive, and when it came out my crepe was literally SOAKING in some watery berry sauce. Which essentially wrecked the crepe, as it was super soggy. I was almost done my crepe when my coffee finally arrived and it was without doubt the worst coffee I’ve had. I dumped 3 sugars and a boat load of cream and there was no saving it. Had it not been so expensive I might have been inclined to give it another chance on some different items, but at $20+ a person I’ll try somewhere else first.
