Pretty good experience overall. It's nice to have a BYOB option at a fine dining spot. The food overall was well seasoned but I will say, the special had been steak tips and they had been overcooked despite asking for medium rare. The mac and cheese along with their fettuccine Alfredo was on point and incredibly delicious. Will be dining here again! Ps Make a reservation as they are extremely limited in regards to capacity.
The food here was outstanding! Small local business where you can tell the people here care! Just look at the pictures of my food! I love the liberal use of truffle throughout the menu. I had the lamb and my server informed me it's only cooked all the way thru, no way to order mid-rare but suggested I get it anyway if I like lamb. Boy was she right. The marinade did that meat right! Very juicy and tender. Salmon cooked to perfection. Lovely plating technique. We'll be back to try more food!
Went here for a late brunch on Sunday. Ordered "Hennessy"wings and sticky ribs for apps, and Cajun fried lobster tail with mac n cheese. Everything was fantastic! My friends had jerk chicken and salmon and both were excellent as well. The place has a really cool vibe and is named for Springfield's founding, so it's decorated with murals, photos and other decor along that theme. It's BYOB, so bring whatever you'd like to drink.
What a lucky find! Hubby and I are still arguing over if the food or the service takes the cake here. Felt like we were joining old friends for a meal cooked just for us, every bite was love. The menu is literally the perfect size with a street food vibe elevated into a new tier. We can't wait to come back. Thank you for an absolutely perfect evening. P.s. it's BYOB, what more can you ask for?
I would personally give this place 10 stars, the food was so flavorful and just amazing. The food presentation was on point. My friend and I randomly went to try it out, we did not have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us anyway which was greatly appreciated! We got the mac and cheese, lamb chops w truffle fries, and the jerk chicken alfredo. Everything was super delicious, no complaints whats so ever!!!!!! Compliments to the chef and the whole team! The music being played was also a great addition, the vibe was simply unmatched. If you’re thinking ab trying this place out, THIS IS YOUR SIGN!!!
We were looking for a great place to sit and dine in when we came across this lovely place. 1636 is the place to be!!! From the food, to the ambience, the vibe, to customer service was beyond everything. Ooh and let’s not forgot… the food, was cooked with love!! Everything was absolutely amazing. We really enjoyed ourselves, we’ll be back soon! Thank you 1636 for showing us a great time!
I was excited to try this place because the pics of the food on their social media looked spectacular, but I was disappointed. For one, EVERYTHING was very salty, not unbearable, but salty enough to not enjoy it. We also waited over an hr for the main course dishes to come out. The establishment itself was unrefined and very dark. Shaky tables and unfinished walls, it looked more of a rundown lounge than a restaurant. The waitress was pleasant, hence I gave the 2 stars. Won’t be going back.
Great atmosphere and service is top notch. Great for a date night.Food: 4/5
We stumbled across this place accidentally, and I'm glad we did! The fettuccine alfredo is a must try! And the fried shrimp was cooked perfectly and included a pineapple Hennessy glaze dipping sauce. While the collards had too many onions for me, that was the one miss in an otherwise divine meal. Everything was well-seasoned with a sneaky amount of spice that tickles your tongue. And did I mention the cheddar biscuits?! I would go back just for the cheddar biscuits. The friendly server brought the food to our car and everything was well-packaged. All and all, one of my favorite accidental finds!
I don't like Mac & Cheese. My wife had me try these 9 Cheeses... I'm c9nverted, but only at this restaurant... Our server, Julie, was the owner as well... she spent time with us in a very pleasant conversation about the food they served, her vision, and general stuff going on in Springfield. We are from CT. Stumbled on this place when we decided to walk over to it from the Springfield Museum. Talk about finding a "Gold Nugget!" My nickname is "Lucky." I'LL SAY!!! My wife, Shar, and I'll be back for sure!
