Stopped in yesterday and ordered two rice bowls. The layout is similar to a Chipotle. You pick your protein, toppings and sauce. Food was fresh and the portions were generous. This is my new go to spot for lunch or dinner. The food is so much healthier than some of the options on Dixwell.
This is my favorite place to go to. On my break I would come here for lunch and order a noodle bowl. The customer service is great, Carlos is super friendly. Food is always great! 10/10 recommend. Korean street ramen is delicious. Thank you.
One of my favorite restaurants in Hamden! I love the spicy chicken and ginger sauce. I typically go for either a rice bowl or burrito, and both are fantastic. The food is delicious, light but filling, and a good price. The staff are super friendly as well!
The food was really good and when we went, around 7 on a Friday, it was not overly busy and we we're served quickly. I wish they had some prepared combinations of ingredients for those of us unfamiliar with Korean food. My noodle bowl was really good, with a wonderful broth and the sauce choices are dun and tasty!
Great tasting affordable food. I usually get a rice bowl and they use nice fresh tomatoes. Would recommend if you're feeling like a rice dish with something spicy.
I use to love this place, but when I came in and ordered a chicken bowl with noodles the woman misunderstood and made a chicken Ramon instead. When she called me up for my order I quickly explained to her that, that isn’t what I had wanted. I wanted the chicken bowl with noodles-the zzaam. It was clearly a miscommunication and misunderstand that could have early been resolved. Unfortunately, the owner found it funny, and gave me hard time when I explained the misunderstanding. I had to repeat what happened about five time to explain that is not what I wanted. Mind you I did not touch the food or tray because I knew right away it was a mix up. After I said, you know what nevermind, I’ll just take it since I paid for it and leave a review is when she said she would change it for what i originally wanted. I ate the ramen and I was disappointed… definitely don’t get that. Flavorless… better off spicing up some top ramen at home. So to concluded, I already found the service slow, but the food was okay, but after the customer service experience… I will definitely not come back.
This is a very interesting place. Very clean and spacious. My 1st time here. I really had no idea what I was ordering. The menu is fun and educational. I ordered the noodle bowl. My son ordered the rice bowl. I added chicken, black beans, edamame, carrots, teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds. It was fantastic and filling! All the items are fresh. The broth was was smooth and soothing, not salty at all. I'm amazed. The service was excellent. I will definitely be coming back. Give it a try!
This food is not only good but its extremely affordable. I paid $7.50 for a heavy bowl of subway style Korean food and it was delicious. Now that I think about it, I'm going back tonight! I will likely eat here at least once a week going forward. It's that good and inexpensive!
I absolutely Love Going To Zzaam! If you never been there, think of it like Subway but for noodles. First you choose rice or noodles, and if you want broth. Next comes meat of your choice or tofu. Then veggies, then your choice of sauces. So damn good!! Deffinately worth a try!
This is such a welcome addition to the fast casual restaurant genre. The food is full of bold, delicious, fresh flavors, it's super customizable, and very affordable. To boot, the staff is friendly, helpful and efficient and the restaurant interior is clean and pleasant. If you're looking for a new alternative to Chipotle, do yourself a favor and try this out.
