Beautiful zoo featuring regional animals who live free in very large enclosure; tourists tour in fortified train and are taught about Quebec's history of settlers and explorers, their trials and triumphs and downfalls; their relationship to the land and animals. Beautifully done, including the educative and experiential videos offered.

A trip to Lake St Jean is just beautiful. A must do once there is to visit Le Zoo Sauvage of St Felicien. Animals have plenty of room to roam and are well taken care of. The must do, though, is the trip on the little train. It goes through the countryside, explaining, and demonstrating, the history of the early French settlers, how they established their homesteads, learned to work together and with the animals, and slowly built the country. The train is "fenced in" and the animals, such as bears, buffalos, and other indigenous animals roam free. Great experience for all wildlife and nature lovers of all ages.

Great wild zoo! You will find yourself walking on elevated wallways and observe the wild below.
There is a 60min ride train you can take to observe the wild from the ground (we saw 20 black bears in 15min! Was great)
Edit: Anima Lumina, desapointed, not a lot of special effect. 2 stars on 5.

Overall a great experience, highly reccomend, and would go again. Worth the cost. It really is almost an entire day activity and the animals you see are great! Only warning is you should bring your own food, as service was mediocre, and expensive at to be expected.
