Tom Zimmerman and his team at Zimmerman Law represented me in a contentious personal injury/product liability lawsuit. Throughout the process, Tom Zimmerman was quickly responsive to my questions and kept me updated to all developments as the case moved forward. When our Florida Corporation was confronted with a frivolous $10k lawsuit filed by one of our customers in Chicago who received free legal services as a union member, our Florida attorney retained Zimmerman Law Offices to represent us. After countless hours spent on our part to provide information regarding the customer's complaint and paying thousands of dollars to Zimmerman Law Firm, the plaintiff finally decided to dismiss the case. Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions and other circumstances beyond our control, our business was forced to permanently close after 15 years in business. As if laying off employees and losing our livelihood wasn’t enough, Zimmerman Law Offices decided to sue me personally, my former business partner, and my wife, who was an employee of the company for more than $18k for unpaid legal fees. While representing us, the staff was overwhelming sympathetic and assured us that we had gone above and beyond in an attempt to satisfy our customer and that we should’ve never been sued in the first place, but Zimmerman Law Offices apparently feels no remorse in going after their former clients, who are unemployed failed business owners for more than the amount of the original lawsuit they were defending us from. I never would’ve imagined that hiring Zimmerman Law Offices to represent my company in a frivolous $10k lawsuit would result in being personally sued by my attorney for nearly twice as much as the original lawsuit that was dropped. Is this what justice looks like in Chicago? Perhaps if you choose to hire this particular law firm. Shameful.

In my experience, this firm is not interested in seeking justice for their clients, they are only seeking personal enrichment. In the Monster Cable class action, Zimmerman was awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars, while class members the victims are required to pay Monster if they want to use their voucher for a "free" cable.
Watch your billing closely. They asked for a $2,500 retainer and my next bill was over $13,000. I was stunned. No notice, no heads up that the billing was climbing quickly. I expressed my concern. They acknowledged it. Next thing I knew, our bills reached $20,000. This was for handling a fairly routine audit by a professional regulation division. I've paid less for far more complicated and highly litigated matters. The reviews are right. They overbill and are not transparent at all. They are good enough attorneys, but I found their billing practices to be excessive and unprofessional. Be prepared to pay close to literally 10x more than what they originally propose to you..
I have been in contact with Zimmerman's office to seek out a potential wrongful death suit for my Mother. Zimmerman has been so great thus far, he is in constant communication whenever I reach out to him with questions, emails get responded to promptly, and just his demeanor gives me confidence in entrusting Mother's case in his hands. If this office does accept my the case, I will update everyone with my experience, but I will say I reached out to 20 different attorneys and Zimmerman was the one that stuck out the most to me. I've read on some of his cases and he seems like a force to be wreckoned with in a courtroom. Keep fighting the good fight!
Zimmerman Law Offices helped me overcome a licensure issue. They are very knowledgeable and thorough while seeing my matter through to the end. They are very reasonable too! Would definitely call on them again. And have no problem referring them to other professionals in my industry.
