Expect an hour to wait for your food . We had a table of 5 and waited that long . 3 other tables of 2 and 3 customers at each came in after us and got served 1st. Apparently their orders were easier? Don't understand why their hamburger was easier to make than the one we ordered but that was her excuse. will not be returning this has happened too many times in the past.
Reading these comments are funny. I’ve known the owners for my entire life. If you’re nice to them, they’re nice back. If you’re rude, well, you’ll get that back too and likely tenfold.
Such a hidden gem we found on our way home from Algonquin Park. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the view was incredible. Will absolutely be coming.
Beautiful view. Should have noticed the Wanted sign for a cook, wait staff, and dishwashers. We were quickly seated because no one was eating here, at noon on a Wednesday. After waiting 15 minutes for our order to be taken, we proceeded to wait another 40 minutes for our food again, the restaurant was basically empty except for a few tables. The food was decent, but not worth waiting for as long as we did.

It was 9:30am when we googled ‘open restaurants now’, and it lead us to Zachary’s after looking for some possible crown land campsites outside Dorset. The restaurant has been around for 42 years, and no wonder it has very homey feeling to it—the decor, rattan furnitures, the 70s music and that superb lake view! I can’t help but feeling nostalgic on what it was like to dine here four decades ago. The menu is simple. My hubs had toast, eggs & bacon + coffee. I had French toast and sausages + tea, the portions were not big and neither small—just perfect! We also ordered a prime rib burger to go, and it was amazing! The gentleman owner spends time to converse with the patrons, and the lady owner who cooked and served our breakfast was so sweet! It was our first time to come here and will never be the last. We will definitely coming back here in winter time. What made our experience here so special is that both my hubs and I thought that food was cooked and served WITH CARE! Thank you for the hospitality!
Great little place to stop for a bite to eat service was amazing. Nice to sit and look at the view and not be in a rush.

This is a small quaint establishment with quiet outdoor seating which has a fantastic view of the lake. I stopped in here to grab a bite after visiting the beautiful Dorset Scenic lookout tower. The service was slower than I usually like it to be, the waitress there was very friendly make me feel welcome. I had the Caesar salad and onion soup which was okay but I did feel the portion was quite smaller than I'm used to. There was nothing wrong with the food but then again there was nothing that stood out about it either. if you're not in a rush to be anywhere, I would recommend stopping by this place
