Your Dollar Store With More

My wife and I decided to go up to Rocky Mountain House for a day trip and to do some shopping now things were more back to normal. We walked the main drag, shopping along the way at many of the local stores, we both had our camera gear / specialty camera bag containing expensive fragile lenses, not to mention a tripod and mounting stick on the outside of the case, in case we saw anything interesting to shoot. We stopped in the “Your Dollar Store” and went in to buy some item. I had some items in a basket and my wife was in the aisles. Then out of nowhere we were told by 2 cashiers that no backpacks were allowed. We told them that we had a camera bag with fragile expensive gear and lenses in it and we would not be “storing that behind the counter”. They persisted, we said we would just leave, then they started nattering on about discrimination and a bunch of weird stuff. Needless to say, terrible customer service from these overpaid minimum wage earners that do not have the critical thinking skills developed to understand a situation. On another note, store is crowded, unorganized and has a strange smell too it. We were just trying to inject some well needed cash into the town half the buildings on main street are vacant. Folks save your money and shop somewhere where they treat you like a customer and not a threat. To Add after owner / manger responded, we went to Canadian Tire in Rocky and carried our camera bag. The fact that other stores have policies that make customers uncomfortable should not be a crutch for you to lean on, Dollar stores are supposed to be fun and cheap, yours is neither. Your style of business alienates customers, lumping all people in as all bad as in all thieves. Business models like that have a limited life time. If my camera bag was smaller would that of been allowed? like small purse size, and if so then that is discrimination note we did not bring up discrimination, your staff did.... we had no idea what they were talking about, very uncomfortable. We did not see ladies having their purses left at the counter. Quiet frankly your store is an embarrassment on how it treats people. Final thought, anyone touring through stay clear, not worth the hassle, and its dingy.

The people who own this store are rude . They take things u can get from red deer dollars stores and then charge this community 4x the price or more ....they are pushy and unkind disrespectful ...I watched the owner make a customer take her baby out of it stroller so he could check to see if she and the baby were stealing ...he did it right infront of everybody ...the poor lady was humiliated and when they found nothing , not even an apology . I was shocked and felt back for the customer ..These people take there customers for granted you'd have nothing with out them . Remember that

It was my first time in Rocky Mountain House and the first store I went to. I was greeted by this nice young woman with planets tattooed on her arm. I told her I wasn't from around Rocky and never been to the area, and she was a wealth of information on a wide variety of subjects. She also took the time to fill up balloons, I had bought elsewhere as well as one's I purchased from her. An all around fantastic experience and I highly recommend this store and her to anyone visiting Rocky Mountain House. I'm afraid I didn't catch her name, but she was very great to deal with.

A GREAT dollar store. A wide variety of really good quality products

They clearly discriminated against me and then when asked why they did so I was told I was irritating. Expensive and the other dollar store will treat you the way you should be treated. Response: 1 phone case that was being bought by me. I put it down while choosing another one for daughter. I did not get the chance as employee came and kneeled by me touching me and then reached over me for only phone case I had moved.I then was told by her I know it’s only one but we can’t have people doing this, this section is really bad. I respectfully answered her I understand. When I tried to bring my concern to you, you chose to allow another employee interact with me instead of you, who I was directly talking to. I thought social distancing would be considered but I will let AHS decide that so those that read this, know this is disrespectful enough for me to back my complaint. Long story short check your pricing on receipts they are famous here for that, realize it’s an expensive store and that they treat every customer like they are stealing. Unfortunate, but the other dollar store in town is friendly.

I was very excited when I visited to see that they sell Confederate flag bandannas! Bought one and proudly have it displayed in my truck. I'll be back, as I'm always happy to support a business that doesn't give into the PC police! This dollar store rocks!

Great employees, very fast, genuine, great conversation and wonderful smiles, makes the experience smooth and fun, they are always able to answer any questions as well.

Super helpful and friendly staff. My daughters always have so much fun shopping here!

Small but good choice of items

The worst customer service ever and they sell items with dead batteries expecting customers to buy and change there own. I can't believe the rudeness of the store manager she can go to hell!
