6 Months later! - Unfortunately you are still missing the point of my complaint. I COULD CARE LESS AT THIS POINT ABOUT THE BOAT CLEANLINESS. That ship has sailed. John, I don't know if you were having a bad day or what....but the way you spoke to my wife when we purchased our vessel as paying CUSTOMER is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. LET ME REPEAT, regardless of our boating experience and/or lack of knowledge; the way you spoke to my wife IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I didn't pay your organization for a boat for you to lose your temper on my wife because you were potnetially having a bad day and we challenged you on its quality of care. Quite honestly, I don't consider a "DELUXE BOAT CLEANING" and offer to reclean the boat with a HOSE AND BUCKET standing outside with a 10 month old in the sun an appropriate response. I simply declined, because I DID THAT AT HOME ON MY OWN TIME. Based on our interactions. I have since reached out to the BBB branch in Boston to file a complaint. I let you get your yelling out......A simple apology at the time for your losing your temper would have very simple. But you decided not to. I waited until we left for an apology to my wife which never came. Obviously you thought we were wrong and you were right.... I now know where our SECOND Whaler purchase WILL NOT be in a few years when we are ready to buy a larger NEW boat. Our family purchased our first boat ever this year from York Harbor Marine. And I must say it was extremely disappointing. I found John the owner to not only be unprofessional and disorganized, but also extremely disrespectful toward our family. This spring when we picked up our vessel, we were not happy with the cleaning services that we paid for in full. When my wife complained to John about the poor job, he lost his temper and physically yelled at my wife. I have never seen such a person act this way toward a paying customer. I feel swindled and disrespected by this Marine shop and owner. You should never raise your voice in a confrontational manner to a customer let alone a female.

I have been a York Harbor Marine customer for 12+ years and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a reputable marina with exceptional service. My family has been a service customer the entire time, so I can’t comment on new or used boat sales. But I have had repairs that were major to minor and customization projects mixed in between, and there has never been an unexpected surprise. Kathy makes the most obscure parts materialize like a magician. Their communication updates come at regular intervals so I don’t feel left in the dark, and even have some humor that only Brandon and his team can provide. I have had a mix of older and newer outboards, and their technicians are equally adept at both which is saying something. The new Verado’s are certainly very reliable, but when things do go wrong you need to know what you are doing, and they do. Those certifications are not easy! For a marina their size (meaning small/family oriented) they are exceptionally well connected to Boston Whaler corporate, which is surprising. Normally you would think that type of relationship would only exist a huge/high volume dealer that lacks what this place delivers. John will talk boats with anyone, for literally any amount of time, and it becomes obvious very quickly this is his calling in life. They have made great cosmetic upgrades over the last few years and the new deck should be fun this summer. They just get it. The boating season is so short in New England to begin with and their entire staff work to make it as enjoyable as possible.

i have been boating a long time and this is the best marina where i have stayed. i bought my 31' whaler there and docked there for 3 years. the view is beautiful and the marina clean. if you are buying, there's no pressure and they will take care of you. everybody is polite from the mechanics, to the dock hands to the owner, john lusty. you will not have to ask the service manager, brandon, to do something twice. they are a great asset to the harbor and we are lucky to have them. john pomeranz

I purchased a Boston Whaler from York Harbor Marine not only was I completely satisfied they went out of their way to make sure they answered every question I had. John and his crew made us feel like family and even gave us a ride in one of his personal boats which made my autistic son extremely happy. I look forward to doing business with them again in the future and would recommend them to my friends and family.
