We went to the Easter event on the 8th, due to the previous Christmas event cancelled, they gave us free admission tickets. And it was a fun event, people there are nice and friendly. Most likely they are senior people work as volunteers. And plenty of activities, face painting, jumping castles, carriage ride, little train ride, nothing cost a penny. My son and me were really enjoyed it. We can tell it is a non- profit organization. As I saw a lot of bad reviews about the cancellation. And bad words towards it, it is really unfair. The weather is something hard to control, also we could tell the train is old they do need maintenance sometimes. We should give them more patience and understanding. Our local people suppose to support local businesses.
Great mini train/toy train experience. They have plenty of thematic rides for fall and winter season. Most experience is for 2hrs on weekends and wednesdays, which serve on board High tea or lunch. Right trip to experience Fall colors. Can go with family, friends or colleagues.
If you are a railway lover, this would be a good experience. There are just trees visible some uprooted I would not call it scenic view , there was not much fall colors on either side which was a let down. Inside the train, it was very clean ,decorative with very pretty table arrangement. The vegetarian food was good , it was a 3 course lunch and staff are very friendly. Overall it was slow paced and relaxing ride. I loved it.
I'm a train guy for that the experience was good, the staff is super friendly, the trip itself is a slow ride in reverse then park and eat brunch then a slow ride back forward, train was tilted to one side for most of the trip anyone with any kind of walking problems will find it hard , a few people had a hard time walking and had to hang on to stuff. Price is a little hefty for what is included, the meal was good but for the overall experience I wouldn't pay over 70 again. I'm not sure what the limitations are as far as track access and area of coverage but I guess I was expecting something different.
We’ve done high tea and thanksgiving harvest dinner on the train and will be attending the Christmas event they have going on! This is the best team of people they really do care about their customers, and take the time to chat with each table! You can really see that they care about the trains and the experience that their customers have, the best thing is the set up is always so well done I highly recommend everyone experience this once in their life! You’ll not regret it! If I could give 10 stars I would!
A day with Thomas is a kids event but there’s a lot of time spent on the two 20min bus rides to and from the ski resort to Uxbridge and waiting in line for a 30 sec picture with Thomas at the end of the actual train ride. My advice is to get there two hours early and spend time in bouncy castles/slides and the mini train ride. The actual Thomas train ride is a long process. It’s much easier to go to Uxbridge and take a pic of Thomas from the road when it’s at the station. It does “talk” and the mouth moves, as well steam comes out of the stack. The train ride is nothing special. Parking is a 20$ which is pricey. The staff did try hard to make it a pleasant experience. There’s three food concession stands.
This is a hit with toddler kids for sure. Staff is very kind and helpful. They have a balloon lady who makes amazing balloons for the kid's. We went in couple of weeks before the fall colors actually peak but one downside I recall is that the windows of the train have a slight tint which reduces the visibility and the colors to a small extent. Other than that I'll give it 5 Stars
Took a trip on Sunday Oct 23 from Uxbridge station. Here is description of what to expect from their website "A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch, hay mazes, jumping castles, and a petting zoo! Join us for our Pumpkin Fest & Train Ride! Lots of activities for you and the family! " First of all they have to indicate that train DOESN'T Go to pampkin patch... This trip is absolutely a joke!! Waste of money. Never again. One side of windows in the train are in bad shape so you won't see clearly what's outside. Train slowly goes through the trees for half an hour, no nice scenery, few swaps... stops for 2 mins and goes back. It doesn't go to pampkin patch, you can get 1 pumpkin per family AT the station behind the trains. It is 1 jumping castle which you have to pay extra. 1 hay maze knee height, maybe good for toddlers or dogs. Petting zoo with some farm animals was ok. That's why they didn't post any pics on their website - lots of people just won't go there.
I’ve attempted to ride this train 3 times. Each experience has been faced with trouble. Two years ago we booked to do Thomas, we had to wait over 2 hours and still had not been taken to the train. My young kids and sick grandpa couldn’t wait any longer and we left. Last year I booked for the Christmas ride and it was canceled. I was given a credit and attempted to contact them to book for the Easter event this year. It took two emails for them to respond to my inquiry about the credit, I waited 1.5 weeks for a response. Now I was supposed to do the Easter event and asked if I could reschedule my credit because my other Grandpa died, no response from them. If they couldn’t change it that was fine but acknowledging it in an email would have proven customer service which this place does not have. Unfortunately we still have to book one more potential ride with them as we were given two credits. If I do not book we are out $500 because they don’t do refunds even if their equipment fails. Horrible business.
Booked the train to see the fall colours but the views from the train were only okay. Managed to get a few nice photos but the train ride was not enjoyable. Multiple speakers were playing children’s music very loudly and most people were trying to talk over it which unfortunately detracted from the overall experience. You would be better to take a drive at your own pace through the surrounding areas.
