Take a short quick visit to get your maps, ask questions, get your certificate with stamps and watch a 6 min movie on the northern lights. The staff are very friendly, courteous and are busy attending to many walkins but they attend to you with a friendly smile.nnLocated in downtown. An easy stop while catching brunch/ lunch.nnThey have updates for upto 3 days on the status of northern lights. Get details on the old town and guidance on driving and visiting the are.nnHighly recommend to make it your first stop when you arrive Yellowknife.
It doesn’t take long to look around, so make sure to stop by in the middle and get your certificate. The attendant in charge of the certificates was incredibly kind. They even show a video with 3D glasses, and there are stamps to decorate your certificate, as well as a cute Yellowknife badge and stickers. I also recommend taking a photo near the entrance with the Yellowknife graphics after receiving your certificate.
Customer service was so amazing and warm welcome to my team. I highly recommend and appreciate their support and services
Enter though 50th street entrance on the weekends and especially Sunday when the mall is closed. Lovely friendly staff and beautiful Indigenous items on display. And!! Make sure to get your north of 60 certificate and Yellowknife pin!
So as an FYI, the Yellowknife Visitor’s Center has been relocated to Centre Square Mall. What an interesting center they have created here. Many examples of art, installations, and valuable information. The staff here is super nice and very informative. If you are looking to see the Northern Lights, they will provide you with great info and pamphlets regarding where to go and when to be out, along with websites where you can track the possibility of Aurora and even a live cam of the sky that you can check to see if there’s anything to see. Also they have a lot of info on the city itself, and the past history and the places to visit.
