my husband and I love it here! Great owners and service, they make us feel welcome and special every time. Food is gorgeous and tasty. They have great drinks, alcoholic and non. My personal fave is lavender lemonade. I love that they have options for all—hubby eats anything and I'm vegan and gluten-free and it pleases both of us. Even if you're not vegan, get the vegan chocolate mousse. It's so decadent!
The Yard Bird is a diamond in the rough in downtown Bowmanville!! My mother and I stumbled across this place and were delighted when we walked in! Very cool interior and fun, original alternative food. Great place to stop in for a glass of wine.
So glad that I found a restaurant that I will definitely come back for another time! Cocktail is soooo good and even better than those in a fancy hotels! Duck leg is the dish to die for as it is not only cooks to perfection, but eating it with the bit of the orange peel pushes the entire dish to an other whole new level!
I'm almost afraid to write a review about this place because I want it to remain a secret. The food is amazing, the cocktails are outstanding and unique, the ambiance is terrific and the service is beyond reproach. This is a true hidden gem that you must try.
The food was wonderful as was the service. The portion sizes were small for the prices in my opinion, after getting an appetizer and entree each we still did not feel very full. The atmosphere was quaint and a bit loud for conversations.Food: 5/5
Very welcoming and friendly staff, great ambience. Most of the dishes were delicious! Only thing, truffle popcorn had way too much truffle olive - impossible to eat. : And beef sandwich had way too much mayo.
Great spot in Downtown Bowmanville. It’s a great take on French inspired cuisine. Cute vibe, nice cocktail list, non-overly complicated menu - well curated dishes. All the dishes we tried were delicious - beet carpaccio, beef tartare and both had the braised short rib. We will definitely be back :. Thank you for your hospitality!

First time visiting yardbird tonight and we were so happy! We were greeted quickly and sat at the bar while waiting for our table. We enjoyed some cocktails and then were seated to have dinner. The food was delicious! So much flavour, I had the Cow Au Vin and my hubby had the Pulled Pork Mac and cheese grilled cheese. Both were incredible. We also had dessert which were fantastic. We will definitely be going back! Such a great atmosphere; makes for a great date night.
Had a very nice night out at the Yardbird. Excellent cocktails. And not just for Bowmanville/Durham, but excellent creations! We were able to sit and enjoy without feeling rushed. Would recommend.
