The food and prices were good but the service could have been better. Staff seemed like they did not want to be there and people were waiting at the entrance for a long time before someone helped them. Minus the service, probably one of the better sushi places in town.
I went to Yamato the other day and had an amazing experience. Anna was our server and she did an amazing job. She was very friendly and kind and our whole order was correct. The sushi also tasted fantastic!! I definitely will be returning:
Literally the best Japanese/Vietnamese food in the city. So fresh, really great portions, and it was still hot when it was delivered which is so rare with take out. The staff is great and the service is really fast when we eat in/take out. Yamato is such a great option for a quick, yummy meal for the whole family.
Second time going here. Complained about the Tuna Sashimi tasting like water. Was told it's served fresh everyday. Not!!. I can taste the difference between thawed from flash dozen or served the day after. Won't be going back.. Second time left unsatisfied.
My 6 year old son wanted to leave a review from our date lunch yesterday. We had a lovely lunch date and he really enjoyed his meal- he wanted to share: “Delicious avocado roll and agedashi tofu and the dipping sauces!” Needless to say we’ll be back again soon! Dietary restrictions: vegan
Loved the menu, very extensive! Excellent sushi. Ample portion. Wonderful service. Fish was fresh and taste. Salad rolls are delicious! Tempura is perfectly done. Vegetarian options: Veggies and seafood with rice. Yummy yummy

Good experience at Yamato. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have quite a broad menu with lots available. I'd say everything is done quite well. I feel they dont specialize in any area for example ramen or sushi, but they are still done and are priced well too. The chicken ramen was a clear broth and had quality vegatables and lots of chicken which was good too.
I’m born and raised on the coast and struggle to find any decent sushi in the Okanagan. I usually go to blue tail but live just by this location. I stopped in today for the first time and was very happy with what I got. Nothing tasted fishy and everything was hot and fresh. Will definitely go back!
