We really enjoy coming to Yamaha. The facility is modern and clean. The staff and teachers are friendly and professional. We especially like how creative and fun the curriculum is. My kid now loves singing, playing on the piano. Yamaha really focuses on ear training for young children that will help them in their music endeavors for a life time. It’s not just about playing the piano but learning music holistically.

I highly recommend Yamaha School in Markham for anyone looking to learn piano, especially for children. My 6-year-old daughter has been taking lessons from Ms. Ruby for 2 years now and we couldn't be happier. Ms. Ruby is a wonderful teacher who is patient, kind, and knowledgeable. She has a great approach to teaching that makes learning fun and engaging for my daughter. My daughter absolutely loves playing the piano and has learned so much under Ms. Ruby's guidance. The Yamaha School itself is a great facility, with comfortable and well-equipped classrooms. The location is also convenient, with plenty of parking available. Overall, we are very satisfied with our experience at Yamaha School and grateful for Ms. Ruby's dedication to teaching and nurturing our daughter's love for music. Highly recommend!
The Yamaha Music program is by far, the most fun and engaging music program for children. My parents introduced me to this program when I was a child and this is how my love of music started. Now I have a 4 year old daughter and I'm so glad this program is still around so my child can learn about music the same fun way I was introduced to!
My kids have been attending Yamaha Music School for piano lessons for the last several years and really enjoy it. I like the focus on creativity, ear training, and music appreciation. The teachers are professional and really care about their students, and the group classes are a really good way for kids to learn.
I would highly recommend Yamaha Music School for early childhood music education. The Junior Music Class, especially, is catered to the different developmental stages of young children, placing special emphasis on ear training and musicianship while using the keyboard as a teaching aid.
Nice new place compared to the old location. Much more space in the waiting area and nicer practicing rooms.
Yamaha Summer Camp was fantastic! My daughter enjoyed it a lot and wished it was longer ! She was able sing, learn to play the guitar, drum and keyboard. They even gave her music books and drum sticks to keep. They had a fantastic dream come true lunch menu. My daughter can’t wait for next years summer camp! Thank you to all the wonderful teachers and admin staffs for providing such a memorable, fun and safe environment for my daughter.
Just avoid it if you can find a private teacher. They just focus on making money and they could have told you that you can pay for a trial class before registration. What they are misleading you is they said you can't take a class unless you register but when you don't like the class and guess what, your registration fee is non refundable. That is a good 100+. And yes you do pay for the class too, so you paid 150+ for a trial class. Good luck.
Yamaha Music School Markham is truly an incredible music school. My daughter has been attending the private piano and groups lessons for 6 years now. She has learned leaps and bounds in technical playing, musicality, composition of original pieces, music theory and many more. The music school not only teaches children to love music and their instruments but really instills life skills as well. The teachers are top notch as they inspire the students to persevere, not give up and to be confident. My child loves all her teachers because they really invest in her to succeed in learning new music materials each week, make it fun and teach her how to compose and enjoy different genre of music. You will love the staff, teachers and the families attending this school. Very kind, organized and supportive. In fact, Yamaha music school is recognized internationally so it speaks for itself. I strongly recommend Yamaha program for any musical instrument your child may want to learn. There is no other music school like Yamaha in Canada!
