I eat like a king. The food was so good, I could not believe it. I come from Vancouver where sushi is at every corner and you can find high quality. And at Yamagoya I was blown away. Definitely will come back when I come to Fermi for business. The service was great, really took care of my allergy and proposed a gluten-free and dairy-free brownie dessert that I would have not known about if she didn’t tell me. I give it 5 stars + a bonus point for the desert
Was a great sushi experience. We sat out on the patio which is enclosed with heaters. Food was delicious!! They had some fun unique spins on traditional sushi dishes. Out front had lots of parking and was easy to get in and out of with an RV.
There was a line up for dinner before the place even opened on Saturday so go early! It's a small and busy place, but the service was friendly and attentive and the food was fresh and satisfying! I really enjoyed the sashimi carpaccio.
The food was very good. Expect to wait a bit for your order but the ambience is very nice and service was friendly.
We went there on a busy summer season night, but despite the crowd everything still felt.tailored to our table and the service was incredible! Tasty sushi rolls and some of the best tempura that I have had at a Japanese restaurant. They also offer a 3 + 1 oz flight of incredible japanese whiskeys!
This place was delicious! Cocktails were great servers were super friendly. There was a bit of a wait but the hostess was super friendly and we got a text message pretty quickly. They are not kidding about the heat warning on the one roll though! Be warned. Overall great location would come back.
The stir-fry that I had was very much below expectations. Lacked flavor. The AAA meat they put in was very good quality, but way too overcooked and had a boiled texture to it. Not a classic Japanese stir-fry texture, which is all about a crispy outter and tender inside. The carrots and onions also were overcooked. Their tempura was great. Their sushi was fantastic however, so I'd say if you're going here, expect great sushi Their toffee dessert was also fantastic.
Great sushi house in Fernie! Note: they don’t take reservations great sign from the start and when we pulled up at 5pm, there was a line up. People were waiting outside in the snow another great sign. Lucky us, we got a table at the bar! Service was great and food was delicious. Some highlights: seafood tempura, sunomono salad and the Kazan roll warning: super Overall, we had a great experience and we’ll be back to try the ramen! Thank you!
We called in on Friday to make a reservation for Sunday and they let us know it was first come first served. We showed up 20 minutes prior to opening for them to have closed the whole restaurant. We ended up going somewhere else to eat on Saturday due to being informed it would be open on Sunday. It was really disappointing as we drove 6 hours and this was a top “must do” on our trip.
Restaurant was clean, friendly, reasonably priced, and delicious. We are traveling and have not been in Fernie before. We stopped here for dinner as we were looking for Sushi. Initial impression was good as the Restaurant, though small, is inviting. We had a small wait, which we did at a table, and got seated at the bar. Menu selection is good. There are the usual favorites, and some specialty pieces. If you're used to sushi and this fare, there's something for everyone. However, the menu was limited to only sushi and Japanese style fare, so picky adults and kids might be a challenge. All food was made to order and delicious. It arrived in a timely manner. We ordered California rolls, New York rolls, and West Ferni and Ferni rolls. All were delicious. The staff were courteous and prompt. The whole restaurant seemed to be enjoying themselves. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to both travelers and locals though they don't care about my opinion alike.
