Great place to sleep, great place to eat and the owners area absolutely AMAZING. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and more! The rustic cabin was perfect and cozy. Great friendships were made! Will definitely visit again next time we're out that way!!
A very clean and well kept beautiful place to get away from the stress of every day life. Resort staff is very friendly and professional and the Cafe has some delicious food. Only suggestion would be to post where to check in and check out at . Other than that it is definitely worth staying here. I would recommend it to everyone
The owners are very kind and went out of their way with a personal touch to ensure we had a great experience. The rustic cabin was cozy and comfortable and great base camp to explore the beauty of the nearby mountains! Would stay here again and recommend it!
We stopped by for dinner one night while visiting the area. We always love supporting small local restaurants and had heard that, while the restaurant had had some challenges with staffing and consistent schedules, that it was a unique local spot with interesting history. When we arrived, there were only a few cars in the parking area. There were not any other customers eating at any of the outside picnic tables and since we had our dog with us, we asked if we could eat outside. We were told no, their picnic tables were not dog friendly. Meanwhile, another customer’s dog is running all around the front area off leash. The staff member said they could do an order to go. We decide we’ll just do that. They give my family member menus and he brings them out to our car for us to decide. He goes back into order and we both choose a dinner entree. When he orders, the staff member says they can’t do any of the back page almost the entire dinner menu to go. My family member inquired why that would be when it’s clearly the dinner time listed on the menu. The staff member replies that “it uses too many boxes.” My family member asks if they can just put the entree and sides in the same box. The waiter has to get special permission from the kitchen. He returns- they can’t put the salad in the box. My family member tells them just to leave the salad off, that’s fine. Then he needs to get special permission to forego the salad. We wait for the order and when my family member goes back in to pick it up, the waiter asks if we want silverware. My family member says that would be great, to be told “well we don’t have any, is that ok?” All of this to arrive home with the order to find the food appears to be Costco-style processed freeze and warm “chicken fried steak” patties, instant mashed potatoes and canned green beans. Unfortunately, the entire experience was very disappointing and not a good value. Hopefully this business can take this feedback into account to make positive changes.
GREAT burgers, fries, salads, and excellent service! High quality food prepared by people who know what they’re doing. The dining room is a 1930’s style dance hall built with beautiful and sturdy timbers. The restaurant and campground are right on the Big Laramie River; the restaurant/dance hall is on the National Historic Register and very unusual. We also camped here, and after a great meal, we enjoyed a nice campfire by the river and a very peaceful night. We’ll come again!
Great atmosphere and excellent burgers. One of my favorite cowboy bars to visit in Wyoming.
I just had the best hamburger ever! Rustic place heated by wood burning stoves. Nicest guys you will ever run across. You need to get in here if you travel from Laramie to Walden or after a day of snowmobile or ATV.
Love this place. Used to visit when I was younger. People are wonderful and food was great. A MUST see
Going in, I meant to take a picture of the menu and post since it hadn't made its way online yet. The vibe just made me forget everything and enjoy myself. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, food was delicious. This would be my regular spot if I lived in the area, 100%.
Great atmosphere, food good, make reservations because they get a lot of service especially in the Summer. Small staff so be patient.
