Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. My husband and I have been going here for years. Never had a bad experience. The apples are delicious but do seem pricey.
The negative reviews of this place are absolutely correct. The owner is a grumpy old man. He does not know what proper customer service is especially after bought way overpriced apples purely to support local businesses. Maybe he was racist or simply just ignorant but his comments were jaw dropping. In the end, it wasn't the overpriced fruit or the bad service that didn't sit right with me. It was the fact that my kids saw the way he spoke to our family. I had to explain to our kids that his behaviour was not normal. I highly recommend that you stay away from this place unless you want your children to witness ignorant and racist behaviour. Your presence is better spent at other more kids friendly farms. Maybe I should have read the reviews prior to bringing my family here. Oh well...Next time.
Will not return. Not many apples on the tree at this time. Definitely overpriced but good experience picking them. The owners appeared nice at first when we walked in but had an attitude change as soon as we paid. We were rudely asked to leave even though we were a large group who had just spent over $100. I don't know if it's a racism but we were threatened with tresspassing since we were taking some time to wash the apples and take pictures in their parking lot. I'm not sure why we were picked on but we did not give them trouble out of courtesy to the elderly owner. Manners and customer service need to be worked on.
Extremely rude! Would go as far as to say even racist. The old guy wanted to make sure that we could afford to pay $35 before we entered. We usually go to Markham but decided to try somewhere close by and it was a horrible experience. The kids ended up picking apples and eating one which we didn't realize was an issue until the security guard literally accused us of stealing even though we bought over a 100 dollars worth of apples. Then after paying we got the tickets for the tractor ride and before getting on the ride the driver was like taking us to the actual sign to show us it says not to eat. As we were driving around the kids were asking me why other people but we are not allowed to. When we were done they asked us to leave. I will never support their business again.
A few weeks ago, we went there for apple picking,.
This was our second year visiting the farm and will definitely be our last. I'm all for supporting local, not when the family is super ignorant especially after you pay $114 for the apples. The elderly man is a one of a kind...rude. The only person that rated them 5 star either works there or is part of the family recognize him from the pictureIf you have young children, I would recommend looking elsewhere. There are many other farms that are more personable, have more activities and aren't such a money gouge.
Extremely Rude! Overpriced Raciest and even more hateful qualities! I am even more hateful qualities. So I am not surprised that he hasn't responded to any of the reviews. The owner is a grumpy, miserable old man. He has nothing else to do except to spread misery! I would go so far to even call him racist!
Don't get me wrong, I have had only good experiences with them, I find them to be very nice people. But the price for the apples are EXPENSIVE. We pick only 9lbs of apples and that came to be almost $40.00. Their apples are very delicious but over priced.
It just my personal opinion - I didn’t feel welcomed there, and I think I looked poor? So they had to double check if I could afford their pricy apples?? This is just not how you do business or treat your customers. I didn’t try the samples, so I can’t provide my comment on their apples :p.
Outrageously priced at $3.99 a pound when you pick and $4.99 a lb when you just want to buy. Price gouging! The same Ontario apples are $1.67 at the grocery store. I don't get it. I am all for supporting the local farmer which was I went there but they have not made it affordable for the struggling families with kids. Seeing as they are a "Family Farm" they might want to cater to families themselves and not rip us off. Won't be going back there. All the local farms from Chudleighs on down see the Autumn and apples as a way to make a fast buck. Shame on them
