How have I lived in Toledo my entire life and not visited this museum until now? So interesting and well maintained . So thankful there are enough people who care about preserving history! The museum had many interactive displays, artifacts, and photos. Short informational video was well done. Staff was super fry. Overall a great place to spend a few hours! Added bonus, teachers are admitted free.
This was a very enjoyable tour of this freighter. Before Covid19 tours were given as group tours. Currently they are "self guided" but still a great time. Your admission includes a tour of the freighter, a tour of the tug "Ohio" and admission to the museum on site. All are great for kids! I have visited the museum before. I had never visited the freighter or tug. I was delighted and took more that 150 pictures. The history behind these 2 vessels is astounding. There are placards that tell you about what you are viewing. I spent 2 hours on the freighter and tug, I did not have time for the museum. Give yourself the good part of the afternoon to do all 3.
It was great this Halloween. One time we went there they were passing out little Dum Dum lollipops and tiny stuff like that but this time they had nobody passing them out because of the virus. They were in a little plastic bags with candy in them and you can grab a few. It was fun and especially seeing the whole history and how people long ago used to live in those bunks and you get pretty good access
Biggest Cargo Ship I have been on so far! My boys and I had a lot of fun! You can travel thru the ship at your own pace, lots to see, engine room, blow the horn up top, and with it being a museum lots and lots to learn. Especially inside their building. Few fun games inside for the kids. A definite see, and very reasonable prices
Had Visited This Beautiful Ship Last May. Helpful Staff. Love It So Much. Will Be Back To Visit This May Again.Visited onWeekdayReservation recommendedNot sure
Whole family has a blast including out 8 and 11 year old boys, and the grandparents. Tugboat was great to see, and the freighter was incredible-truly unforgettable. The museum part was great too. Los of well written mini stories, artifacts, pictures that were really interesting. A little bit disappointing that a number of exhibits weren’t working, but overall we’re loved it. Highly recommend this little gem!
This place was awesome! You could go all over the ship. The inside was crazy
Rather fascinating vessel. Its impressive to see these large ships moving about and carrying extremely large loads. This ship was probably state of the art for it's time period which is also equally impressiveVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
This was definitely worth the stop. Super cool, hands on museum and its great for all ages. They offer military discounts. We toured the tugboat, the big ship and the building. The gift shop is super cute and offers nice souvenirs. Every staff member was helpful and friendly!!
Interesting exhibit that lets you walk around a docked lake freighter. Also there's a nice museum with great lakes history pieces and displays. Allow yourself enough time to walk around and experience it.
