Fantastic little cafe, they have a great selection of treats, pies and cafe food + drinks. I recommend their blueberry pie - I always pick one up when I pass by this place. Edit 24July2021 - it’s pouring rain and the place is packed this is how you know it’s a favourite of many!. Picked up my second blueberry pie in 3 days, a cinnamon bun much better than Cinnabon or anything I’ve ever bought, this is going to be my new staple and some butter tarts to go. Delicious! The prices are excellent, they’re between Tim Hortons and Starbucks - and well worth it.
Cutest little bakery with super friendly staff and the most amazing cheddar croissant I’ve ever had, the sausage rolls are also a must try. Stop in for a coffee and tons of baked good options you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Been passing this place for years finally stopped to try out. I'm a huge fan of butter tarts and was delighted to see they made them..But alas I was disappointed. The tart looked way better than it tasted. The filling was all wrong and tasted eggy and the filling was minimal They were very pricey for what you got and I will pay top dollar for a good tart. The staff was friendly and it's a nice place but unfortunately the tarts need work. The selection was good and I liked the old style look.
A must stop! The baked goods are incredible. Freshest ingredients and baked to perfection. The service is always excellent. We always plan out trip to and from the cottage to stop here and fill up. Thank you so much and cant wait to be back!
The lunches on offer are really nice and a good value. I am a big fan of their toasted Rueben. Not so much their Pies, who's crust isn't as nice as it once was, but still plenty of tasty sweet treats on hand to try!.
Try using Debit without leaving a tip, as for being handed an overfull coffee that when the lid is put on, pushes coffee level above rim making it continually drip out of the cups overlap seam and onto your garments until some distance up the road you must pull over and dump some out to avoid further soiling of your garments. Why not just drink the overflow, way too hot, it's suppose to be hot, not scalding hot. Been there done that. Won't be back.
We had the opportunity to try the cinnamon bun, pecan butter tarts, and their strawberry & rhubarb pie. Everything was seriously delicious! These people know their pastry! The butter tart and pie pastries were melt-in-your mouth tender and flaky. The butter tart filling was perfect - just the right amount of sweetness - not too sweet nor too runny. The cinnamon bun had a good amount of cinnamon sugar filling and was still soft even though we bought it later in the afternoon. Will definitely make an effort to come back again next time we're in the area.
Stopped in on way home from a trip to Owen Sound. A charming, little bakery at the side of the highway with a few picnic tables outside to enjoy your purchases. Many pies, pastries, coffee/tea options, hot soup and sandwich varieties and pizzas made to order. I purchased spinach/feta pies and raisin butter tarts. The savoury pies were delicious and would be great to freeze for quick lunches. The butter tarts were tasty but found them to be a bit dense and the filling eggy and thick rather than gooey. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I will visit again. Thank you!
My best friend recently moved up this way and I could not get enough of this place!! In a 48 hr period we went 3 times : once for pizza, the other for sandwiches and once again on my way home. The menu is extensive and the staff were super efficient and friendly. The cookie dough brownie sent me to heaven for a hot minute. I also recommend the tuna melt and don't forget to grab some local preserves!! I got a raw white honey!! Can't wait to go back!!
Had mixed experiences here, but ultimately the owner had the final say, and is pro-discrimination. They will no longer serve me coffee. Very disappointed and will not be going here again. They were sweet about it, but that does not make it ok. Reply follows My apologies - I was paraphrasing. I went in without a mask and was refused service by an employee. I stated I had come in before no problem, even when the owner was around. I also pointed out there was other customers sitting without masks and an employee in the back without a mask. The employee got the owner - I'm sorry I forgot your name, you had introduced yourself to me before - and you informed me you were following public health. You even gave me the number for public health to call. You then gave me my coffee free of charge, which was very nice of you, but then informed me I would not be served if I didn't wear a mask. I am certain it was you I was speaking to because you had offered my girlfriend a job making chocolates there before. I suppose I technically wasn't refused service, I was just told I wouldn't get it in the future. If your position has changed, I will gladly put this behind me and continue to support your business, as I do really like your products.
